Ok, I gotta be honest I haven't tried many of their menu and I might miss a few of the good ones. They have a vast menu and I think it's really worth exploring more. In general, the food taste is quite reminiscing the chinese food during the 80s and 90s, sort of the likes of Eka Ria and Central. It doesn't keep up with the modern taste, but by all means it's not bad. In fact, I know few people loves this style of chinese food.
I should say I really like the bistik, complete with the carrot sticks, fries and beans. Mapo tofu is kinda meh, lumpia udang is excellent, crab fuyunghai is very tasty, bakmi goreng Paramount is ok-ish, kerapu tahu tausi is not bad. Corn soup with crab is very good and hit the spot as appetizer. If you think those are a lot of orders they have a ton more food. I think next time I'm gonna try their burung dara and ayam goreng mentega, frog and cingkong goreng among others.
The service blows my mind. They keep our tea cups full most of the time and quick to refill our pot. After food is done they give complementary dessert like green cincau. They then give second complementary of coffee and 2 different kind of nuts. Like I said, mind blown!
The building is old enough but they manage to keep it up and clean, which I appreciate. About ambiance; Paramount, for the love of god, please change your music into something more palatable. I understand you want to keep the ambiance classic, but it really won't hurt to sometimes play a nice and easy in the ears chinese songs. Even some instrumental Teresa Teng would be better than the music you play.
Expensive? Not cheap but also not expensive. Would I come back? Definitely, I can't wait trying...

My friend and I ordered nasi goreng ham (ham fried rice), daging panggang (roast beef. Which is more like lightly floured roasted beef served over mentega sauce), and cingkong kepiting (fried crab claw meatball).
Everything were served by experienced waitstaff in uniform, they were even served covered using those old time stainless steel food serving covers!
Everything tasted great. The nasi goreng had wok hei aroma and fragrance from the scallions. The flavor of the nasi goreng as a whole was not too salty, so it was a perfect pairing to their viands. The roast beef was super tender and the sauce tasted like a good, classic mentega sauce (mentega sauce is usually a mix of worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and butter/margarine if i’m not mistaken). The cingkong kepiting was also fried nicely. The texture of the meatball was chewy and tender. The flavor was that of fresh seafood. Even the pickles were really good. Chunky cuts of cucumbers and carrots that tasted fresh, crispy, tangy, and sweet.
At the end of our meal, we got a complimentary dessert of a type of es campur with fillings of small tapioca pearls, pomegranate filled jellies, basil seeds, and a coconut milk/milk mixture as the base. It tasted great.
A great place to experience a piece of history and to taste the beautiful amalgamation of Chinese, Dutch, and...
