Taman Suropati is definitely an oasis in the middle of the bustling city Jakarta. If you come here for the first time you wouldn't believe that there is a place this green and comfortable among the concrete forest. The public park is sort of like Lincoln Park in New York but in a much mini version. You can almost do anything here since the park itself open for 24 hours a day. There are several spots for you to enjoy the scenery made there like a small water fountain and built-in art installations. The local cleaning service does a good job to maintain the cleanliness and greenness of the park. They regularly clean the park and throw the trashes. Many trash bins are here and there, some with cute designs. There are a small toilet located at the corner of the park, near the small police station. People use the park to do many outdoor activities like running, walking, gathering with friends / families, playing games, etc. Sometimes, local artists also use the park for their performances or art installations. Many street food vendors are around with very cheap and reasonable price. During the busy hours, you can also find toys vendors here.
