RM. Krekot (d/h. Kuo Thie) — Restaurant in Jakarta

Completely by chance was invited to have lunch meeting at RM Krekot alias Kuo Thie Krekot, a place I used to frequent as a little kid and haven't been back for decades. The restaurant has been renovated since and much bigger with a send Ruko allowing more tables.

We ordered their signature items: wotie, bihun goreng and kangkung hotplate. Everything tasted good especially dipped into the sauce condiments including the compulsory mince garlic. I can't remember if the kangkung hotplate used to have this much tauco or my own palette has changed but it's definitely made it too salty. Bihun goreng was great and so was the wotie although there are many resto out there who have similar offerings with different wotie styles that I've come to enjoy....

Krekot kwotie restaurant are definitely one of the oldest gem in Jakarta, the owner always sits in the cashier while all the waitress bring the food. The place is very old and kinda gloomy. They just recently expand the restaurant by renovating the place and merged with the area beside. The kwotie is big and filling, but the price is way too expensive for a single piece, but guests still keep on coming. By the way, dont forget to buy their bihun goreng / fried rice noodles, expensive...

One of the oldest restaurant in Pasar Baru area already around since 1977, famous for of course their kuotie. The price is quite expensive but worth to try. Their kuotie is quite different compared to others because the deep fried it. When you eat it with the chili sauce it make the kuotie taste better. But quite disappointed with their suikiaw coz it taste almost plain and tasteless, you need to add soy sauce to make it better. The fried mantou is ok and they gave you sweet...
