POP! Hotel Pasar Baru Jakarta — Hotel in Jakarta

Pretty clean, pretty good, but could get a better staying experience with similar rate. Might not re-stay here. Been staying in other budget hotels but they still provide at least installed body shower/shampoo dispenser and some toiletteries. We only got 1 sachet of shampoo and small soap bar in a room for two. Maybe not enough to cover both of our hair. Breakfast? Choose 2 options of bento..mie goreng or fried rice. Even the budget hotel i stayed in got a fantastic breakfast buffet. And sorry to say...my friend didn't even eat half of her fried rice because it was too hard to chew. My guess, it was undercooked, or it has been dried out due to the air-con. Whichever it was...it was bad. Get a local taste challenging Jakartans breakfast instead. Reception service wasn't very friendly, maybe because we looked like we're not qualified enough to get maximum service..? But then they were soooooo friendly with a regular rich lookin ladies. I am kinda disappointed with my stay. I specifically booked a room with twin beds because I was traveling with a friend, and we wanted to sleep separately. However, to my surprise, while the beds were technically twin-sized, they were placed together on a single double bed frame. This completely defeated the purpose of having twin beds, and we still had to sleep right next to each other, which was very uncomfortable.

The amenities were also disappointing. Some items seemed to have been reused—our toothpaste was unsealed and messy, the toothbrush already had stains, and the hotel slippers were only provided for one person, even though we clearly booked a twin room.

However, I do appreciate the friendly staff and their quick service. The room was cleaned every morning, and the amenities were refreshed daily, though I can’t be sure if they were truly new or just repackaged. I hope the hotel can improve on these issues so future guests don’t face the same...

the bed was good, i had a great experience for having a rest after a day, and this hotel has a great access for food & bev. the air conditioning in the room need about 10mins to be cool. the wifi only 3mbps can’t connect for any meetings. no other than local TV network. no telephone, but they give you whatsapp number to provide any needs and takes about 5mins+ for replying that’s okay i understood maybe there was a lot of queries he’s been handling. the toilet, quite good. they sell separately for toothbrushes and sandals, they only give you couple of minerals and a small liquid shampoo for once and a small “batangan” soap. overall the stays was good enough for just relax and rest....
