Why I love this place? 1. Because the atmosphere here embraces a distinct angle of art. It brings people to fall in love with art especially Indonesian culture. 2. That time there was a Simbad theater in here combining with traditional dances from Indonesia. It was terrific outstanding!! 3. You can see many foreigners here join to perform their talents that wrapped up with Indonesian traditional clothes and dancing. it brings Indonesian culture alive! 4. The building is good, the structure seems strong, and many photos around to preserve memories back then. 5. I can't say anything than "this is amazing!" Thanks to the government to preserve this old Dutch building.

This is my first time at the Jakarta Arts Building because I want to watch George Harliono's concert. The location is very strategic as it is close to Istiqlal Mosque, the Cathedral Church, and also Pos Block. Transportation to this location is also easy because it is close to transportation facilities such as Juanda Station and TransJakarta bus stops. The neo-Renaissance building, a remnant of the Dutch colonial government, is still well-maintained, However, the parking available at this location is limited.

I was here on Sunday noon but seems the building is closed so I can't see the interior. The outside facade looks great, really Dutch colonial style on every details. Some parts needs to be maintained, though. Since it's hugely renovated in 1987. This place located near the busway station and the famous Passer Baroe (Pasar Baru). I can't see any trashbin outside so it's wise to keep your own rubbish until you find a nearby one. #ecolifestyle #letsguide #localguides

Enjuku venue performance for 10 years. I almost give 5 star but since new government make new rule, the quality is not that great. Now, there's no monitor in backstage and the lighting control is broken (can u belive they contact me that the lighting controller was broken and i only have 2 days left before the show?! And we are the one who must pay for external rent charge?!). I hope GKJ will become much better in the future. よろしくおねがいします

The first time I got inside this charming little theater, I was in awe at how beautiful it is from the inside. It doesn't look that much beautiful from the outside. But of course you have to sit on the small chair and enjoy the show, whatever on. And pray nobody tall sitting in front of you and blocking the view.

The Jakarta Art Building, historically known as Schouwburg Weltevreden, is a concert hall in Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, Indonesia, built during the colonial period in Batavia, Dutch East Indies.
