Simpang Raya @Daan Mogot — Restaurant in Jakarta

Taste overall is OK like another restaurant of Nasi Padang. Covid-19 protocols is not executed maximum. They provide wastafel to wash hands. But no temperature check. They change the procedure to order. Usually they bring and put all plates of food on the table so that customers can pick / choose the food. Now in pandemic era, they put all plates of food in the front table which are wrapped with transparent plastic so that customers choose first what they like, then the waiters bring it to the table. Parking area is comfortable. Price is ok. Payment : cash & card. They also offer delivery service.

One thing that annoying is when waiter clean the floor when customers are still many inside enjoying the food. You can imagine how terrible our nose smell the chemical from the floor cleaned...

Restoran Simpang Raya is a famous Padang eatery that is easy to found because it is located on the edge of Daan Mogot street. The place is nice and clean. The workers are friendly and prompt enough when you come, they will ask if you want the food to be all served or not. Also if there are dirty used tables, they will quickly clean them. All of the food may be kind of expensive, but it's worth it for the flavour. The most wanted and tasty food for me is Rendang Beef. I almost always order it when i come to this place. All in all, people who like Padang food but want to have an experience in a nice place with friendly service can go...

They just completed the renovation and reopening this week! The new place is really bright and cool. Very convenient to have large gathering. They even have 2nd floor area for super big groups. Service is always great at this Simpang Raya branch.
