SMARA Kitchen and Coffee — Restaurant in Jakarta

When you immediatelly walk in, the first thing that came to mind is classic homey comfort. Smara hits you with a an atmosphere that is just inviting you the customer to have a good time whether just to have casual leisure, or a comfy place to work in. With a very reasonable menu with equal the price, you can count on me to make have a second trip to this humble establishment.

Neither overly classical or pompous modern classic, Smara's interior on the get go makes a very strong impression that this is a place anyone can walk in and just lie back or enjoy their time slowly drinking their favorite beverage. It's small menu is a major plus where without the hullabaloo of a diversified menu, the cooks ensure that the food is done well and proper with as I said earlier a homey feel.

I decided to give the place a try because of the place itself. Cosy, inviting, a lot of parking space. The place is spacious, with well-appointed decor, lots of aircon (for hotter days), and an overall chill ambience. Great for working or having long talks :-) The food took quite a while to come out. We had Soto Mie (great soup, beef chunks were a bit tough to bite through, and no yellow mie), Siomay (decent), the bolu cake on display (it feels like a day old cake to be honest, probably great if it has been fresher), bubur ayam (good), 'rotbak' brioche coklat keju (OK, a bit heavy on the kental manis - but this is, of course, preferential. And brioche may be a bit too soft to hold the toasting). We had americano and magic for coffee. Great coffee. Tasty, balanced. I hope the food improves and the place survives. It's quite a nice, calm stop in the hubbub around Senop. Oh, good...

What a great experience at Smara! The vibes of the place are just right—cozy, stylish, and perfect for hanging out or getting some work done. I tried their Pineapple Spring, and it was super refreshing! The balance of sweetness and tanginess was spot on, making it the perfect drink for a hot day.

Another thing I really appreciate is that they have a proper musholla—clean, comfortable, and convenient. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference. Definitely a place worth visiting, whether you’re looking for a good drink or just a nice...
