All 4 dishes that my parents and I ordered were impeccable. The dessert I ordered for the table, GIOI's black rice pudding with mango compote and spiced mango ice cream, got a unanimous compliment as well. For the entree, we ordered: GIOI's signature crispy duck (half) with kecombrang rice, crispy pork belly with fresh salad, soft shell crab with two buns, and kailan pork belly.
The crispy pork belly with the fresh salad really stands out because it's a very balanced dish. The acidity in the salad really helps reduce the richness of the pork belly. If anything, you have to eat it quickly or the skin could be chewy/tough when cold. The duck IS super crispy, the rice is super good with the kecombrang added to it. It is again a very balanced dish. I also ordered a cocktail but it's nothing special --maybe I should try a different one.
I docked ONE star for hygiene and sanitation. My mother ordered a chamomile hot tea and she didn't notice until half way thru the tea that there's A DEAD BUG inside the pot. It was bad. We're hoping it's not a cockroach or a fly. Either way, a bug can carry diseases. However, the manager replaced the tea with a new one, took it out of our order and gave the table a 10% discount. If I were him, I would've offered my guests a free lunch for the next visit but it's still a nice gesture :). Anyway, this is my first time ever to visit GIOI and I...

Here below are several of my comments regarding the food and service at the restaurant:
The Wagyu Brisket was far from expectation, for a meal that costs over IDR200k. The restaurant should have a picture that described the meal. It looks like a chicken karaage that should be priced lower.
I would suggest they better train their waiters. When I was still eating my meal, the waiter just puts a used tissue on my plate without even asking whether I had finished my meal or not. It is highly rude and unprofessional.
Even for a simple beverage such as a lemon ice tea does not taste like a lemon ice tea.
I ordered the manggo snapper fish, but was not put in the order. It would be good that if their waiter had repeated the order before it gets to the kitchen to make sure the order gets noted.
Overall, my family and I were highly disappointed because compared to your branch in PIK or Menteng, this Gioi still needs major improvement both from the menu and from the service quality.
Therefore, I will think a million times before recommending the restaurant to my acquaintances.
Sorry for the harsh comments. But that is what I experienced...

Too early to visit Gioi, the resto is still on soft opening, only has one degustation menu. The menu consists of Escargot balado - marinated snail with indonesian balado chili sauce and garlic bread. Sheared beef with tartare sauce - served cold, sweetened beef with indonesian squash (emping). Salmon lodeh - indonesian style light gravy coconut soup with salmon. Sate lilit - minced chicken and PORK skewer ala Bali. Bistik - beefsteak with home grown salad. Som Tam - thai young papaya salad with pomelo.
All these plus fancy drink is charged Rp170k nett. I think this is really value for money for 1 salad, 2 appetizer and 3 main courses + fancy drink.
The interior is modern rustic, meaning all made from wood, plus real hydroponic veggies, but the design and lighting is contemporary. The design is a bit casual, with a semi private dining table and a few stand alone table. The rest are rows of table and seats. Appr. 80 seats. Second floor is not yet available. Lighting is good, natural daylight color and no LED. Sound system is ok, not distracting conversation. Service is good, looks like the waitress and greeter are well trained...
