Went to lunch here with my fam on 21 Jan 2024. We were late for 10mins and they kept our table. We ordered caesar salad, lamb chops, carbonara, margherita pizza, and toscana pizza. For dessert we ordered tiramisu and pistachio gelato.
The server was very nice and well trained. Our problem was the food. Caesar salad - came out fairly quickly, standard caesar salad; nothing to complain about. 7/10 Margherita pizza - came out at a reasonable time, by itself. It was very oily in the middle but not much of a problem. Size was very small considering the price. I would’ve expected a 6-slice at least. 6/10 Toscana pizza - this was an add-on that came out before the other mains, which came late. It was decent but nothing to write home about. 6.5/10 Carbonara - we had to ask twice if our food was ready yet because it was taking a very long time. We’d finished our pizzas by then. The carbonara itself was great but again, the portion was small. 8/10 Lamb chops - I asked for a medium. The sauce on this was a little too sweet and the meat itself was very tough. It looked great visually, but it tasted like it was recently defrosted and overall disappointing. 5/10 Tiramisu - just ok, a little too soft. Couldn’t really taste the coffee. 6/10 Pistachio gelato - probably the best one on the table. 9/10
We spent around 2mil for 4 people. Considering the price, they should really improve on the food quality and portion. Shoutout to the servers who are very polite and accommodating.
The valet guys were nice, and you pay them however much you want. It’s more of a...
Read moreThis is hands down my favorite Italian restaurant. I go there like 3–4 times a month and they never disappoint! The food’s always amazing, and the staff is super warm and friendly—every visit feels special.
But last night was hilarious. I booked a table for 7 PM because I had dinner plans with someone. Before I arrived, I asked one of the waiters if they could receive a delivery for me—it was a cake I ordered to surprise the person I was meeting. Not a birthday cake or anything fancy, just red velvet because he had been craving it.
After we finished our main course, I asked the waiter for the cake. It took a little longer than expected, and in my head I was like, “Just give me the box already!” But I waited.
Then, out of nowhere, one of my favorite staff (I think he’s the chef or maybe just the sweetest waiter ever—he always greets me when I come) showed up with the cake on a plate, a little candle on top, and started singing Happy Birthday! FYI—I never asked for the candle and it wasn’t even anyone’s birthday!
We were both so shocked and just burst out laughing. Totally the wrong moment, but honestly, it made the night even more special.
I’m telling you this because their kindness and effort blew me away. They treat you like family and serve everything with heart. 😘
So if you’re ever craving Italian food with a touch of Indonesian hospitality—please visit this place! You won’t regret it. 😍🍝🍰
Note: Sorry for not having a tiramisu desert last night, since we had have a...
Read moreToscana used to be our go to restaurant for Italian. After knowing that they had newly renovated, we had high expectations towards the experience. Yet we only face disappointment of losing our favorite restaurant. They had a new management, new menu, and new chef. After ordering we waited for the bread basket (which you would expect, and I know they used to serve it back then), but it never came. We then asked whether we can get the “welcoming” bread basket and the maitre d answered that the welcoming basket is now available by purchase :). Not so welcoming anymore I guess.
We then waited with excitement for our orders. We ordered for the mushroom cream soup, ragout pasta, pizza, and carbonara. For an IDR 145k mushroom soup, it was just a bland mushroom cream soup with only a thin slice of crouton. The pasta then came served in a very small plate and was also bland and cold. We had already lost pur appetite and didn’t even order dessert.
In conclusion, we are sad to see our favorite Italian restaurant gone. If it’s a new concept, management, and chef despite the same location, please don’t brand it as Toscana as it has completely lost the essence of it. I don’t think we’ll ever come back...
