THE FIRST AND LAST TIME coming to Tucano's. Let's break it down. Point 1 is for the food. Point 2 is for the service. Point 3 is for the ambience.
The breakdown: THE MEAT Portuguese Peri Peri Top Sirloin Score: 1/5 It's chewy because it's rare, not medium rare, but rare. The outside looks good, but once I cut it open, it's still look very much alive. The Peri Peri itself tastes so so, not the OG Peri Peri.
-Garlic Steak Top Sirloin Score: 2/5 It's chewy eventhough it's medium rare. The taste of the garlic are quite good, but sadly the meat turn it down.
Picanha Prime Top Sirloin Score: 1.5/5 It's tough and leaving lots of leftover in between your teeth. The outside looks so overcooked and really hard to slice. The inside is chewy eventhough it's medium rare, the why? I can't understand.
Cupim Beef Hump Score: 4/5 The only meat that kinda melts in your mouth, but the taste of the meat itself isn't that good, or perhaps it's just my palate? Try it yourself.
THE OTHER GRILLED STUFF Coracao Chicken Heart Score: 4/5 Never tried this chicken heart, surprisingly the taste is kinda similar to chicken gizzard aka ampela. The seasoning is quite good.
Franco Chicken Leg Score: 3.5/5 Seasoning okay, but needs to be cooked more carefully because it's getting dry.
Smoked Beef Sausage Score: 1.5/5 One of the worst sausage in my life lol.
SIDE DISH Beef Stroganoff Score: 3/5 Too creamy for me.
Garlic Bread Score: 3/5 I don't think they quite understand on how to make a garlic bread. Mine's really thick, apprx. about 4cm thick, so when I chew the middle part, it's just like eating a bread loaf. But the taste is good, cheers to that.
THE REST OF THE SIDE DISH ON THE STALL Score: 4/5 Tastes okay, try it yourself. The ice cream is silky smooth, the perfect dessert to wipe those chewy meat taste :)
What next? Oh yes, SERVICE.
I came at 15:00, 95% of the place is empty, the table occupied are only mine and some group of ladies.
The staff are very helpful, they take care of all my requests nicely and smoothly. For service, no problem.
HOWEVER...
I sat in front of the grill station. From the time I hit the seat, till I got up, THE STAFF IS MAKING THIS PLACE THEIR PLAYGROUND. They were talking, swearing, yes you read it right, swearing, I heard clearly one of the kitchen staff and another female staff shouting the word "dog" in Indonesian. Then laughing with each other loudly, and leaning into the grilling station like me n my wife doesn't exist. I can even told you the life story of a staff because he told every other staff there about him and his wife. Idk what else to write since this is so chaotic.
So, service score in average: 2.5/5 - I wanna be generous but I just can't forgive the attitude.
What else? Ah, ambience...
Overall, won't come back. I tried the other Brazilian joint before, the one starting with the word F...they're cheaper, better, no chewy meat, and the place are quite stunning to be honest.
Management, please take care of this place.
Thank you for the...
Read moreWe had dinner with a friend at this Tucano's out of curiosity. We ordered a B package, so in addition to buffet self-service appetizers, rice, drinks and desserts (see pictures), we got coracao (chicken heart), frango (chicken leg), beef sausage, jalapeno (top sirloin), picanha (prime top sirloin), and cupim (beef hump) (see pictures). To be frank, the choices for buffet were plenty, but unfortunately for me, none was extraordinary. Further, the buffet did not provide water; they were all sweet drinks. For the additions, the best one was picanha, yet still it was rather chewy because it might be a little overcooked. Curacao, frango and sausage were again not special. Jalapeno and cupim were chewy; they were even rather hard to cut. Thus for me, this package was not worth 198k ++. The ambience was big and bright. The waiters however were not quite helpful by refusing to take something from the buffet area. We knew that it was self-service, but we were in the middle of a discussion and needed help maybe once or twice and not all the time. It was...
Read moreThis was my first time having dinner at Tucano's. Usually, my go-to Brazilian churrasco place is P*a, but it turns out I like Tucano's even better. The service was excellent—friendly and attentive. A special shout-out to Mas RIFKY for providing outstanding service; he even made us a flavorful dipping sauce.
I chose the standard package, which offered a decent selection of meats such as chicken hearts, chicken, picanha, and cupim. All were cooked to perfection—juicy and tender. It came with complimentary garlic bread and cheese balls. You have to request it to the waiters, since they serve it fresh from the oven.
The buffet menu itself was varied, featuring pizza, pasta, sushi, appetizers, and salad. The dessert bar included ice cream, cakes, and puddings; I especially recommend the caramel milk pudding.
Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and definitely...
