Blue Star Bungalows & Cafe — Restaurant in Kecamatan Abang

Yes the location is beachfront but in the depressing side. No view of the mountain and even we booked for the family room with ocean view but there is no ocean view at all (there is tree and covering the view).

The service is horrible, at least that was our impression when we were arrive. There is some misunderstanding, but my condition at that time I was having accident, and instead of take care of me, they are focusing on the misunderstanding problem (we were mistakenly put 2 adult and booked a family room with 1 king bed and 2 single bed, but when we arrived with the kids they were complaining a lot. I dont mind to pay more, but the way they complained was really offensive).

The family room is spacious enough, but dusty and the shower room is too open and the water flow is very slow. The bed doesn’t smell good also the room overall mildew smell.

Overall, unless you want to be alone after a breakup or don't really feel like enjoying your vacation, it's better to checkother places. There are lots of options with better prices, location...

The first time came to Amed. We stayed for 3 nights in this place. The place is very ordinary with a location that is a bit inside. From the uphill road, suddenly turn and enter following a small downhill road that is only wide enough for 1 car. The room is big but standard, we were lucky to get a kitchen in the room. The advantage of staying here, the coral reefs are still alive and healthy. so it's really nice to be able to snorkel here. It seems that the location of this bungalow is well known, because many people from outside who don't stay at the inn just come to snorkel. The food at the cafe is standard, it seems almost the same food menu as the surrounding cafe menu, the taste is standard, the price is also in my opinion almost the same 40 to 120k, but they provide a plate of fresh fruit at every breakfast so we are still happy.

This place near with Sunset point, just walk 100m. Anyway we are still happy stay in Blue Star.

The location is very convenient for snorkeling and diving and easy to find.

The rooms are very clean and beautiful.

The three big downsides are unfortunately:

Almost not existing wifi combined with zero phone/mobile data reception. So you’re basically in the void.

Amed is the hottest spot on Bali and the rooms have no fans, only AC which is way too weak and too small for the size of the rooms, so you get cooked in your room. I would highly recommend to invest in a couple of fans.

The sales people at the beach front don’t allow you to eat your breakfast. The moment you sit down for breakfast, they come to you (massage, scarf, sun glasses) and won’t leave through your whole meal. And the hotel personnel does absolutely...
