We were researching mahi mahi fishing trips in Amed, and by chance, we met Captain Ketut at Divers Cafe while exploring the area. We were sitting on their sunbeds, enjoying a cold drink, and renting snorkeling gear in Diver's Cafe, when we got to know him. He’s been fishing for 40 years and is incredibly experienced!
During our early morning trip, we caught plenty of mahi mahi and even some tuna. Captain Ketut went out of his way to help us catch fish and took us to the best fishing spots he knew. He also shared a lot of insights about the local area.

You can go snorkeling off the beach but the tide needs to be up. Hiring of snorkeling gear is available at a very reasonable cost. The hotel which is across the road is quite the rooms are spacious and clean. For a diving base you couldn't go wrong.

One room overlooking the bay is available above the resraurant and across the street is the actual Hotel. The staff was great, answering questions as to where to snorkel and helping with snorkeling equipment. Just outside the cafe down the beach, 3 meters into the water you can already see coral and fish. The water at Jemeluk beach is clean and clear . Fresh fish is available.
