Let's start with the positive things. Great location in a wonderful small and not so touristy town. The restaurant of Good Karma has a nice (vegetarian) selection for a decent price. The ricefield view from the spacious room was lovely. And after staying here we appreciated the next hotel even more. ||Here are the actual facts, based on the 2 twin rooms that we've stayed at (we can't judge about the 2 double rooms they offered, as we have not seen them)|-Ceiling fans don't work|-Cold "shower" (really just a high pressure fosset attached on the wall)|-No sink and no mirror in the bathroom (just a large deep basin that they use to scoop out water for after bathroom visits)|-Lack of toiletpaper|-No flushing water inside the toilet bowl (plenty of it outside due to unattached pipes)|-No bedside lights|-No curtains|-No bin|-Just one electrical socket (that was also needed for the small non rotating fan)|-And last but not least: BEDBUGS!!!||It seems very cheap, but for the same price you can actually get a room with airconditioning and hot water elsewhere in...

The restaurant has good food, and the owners put us in touch with a local guide who took us trekking through the rice fields as well as up Mt. Limpuyan (hike including visits to seven temples that is a pilgrimage for Balinese Hindus). After spending a week in the middle of Ubud dodging tour buses full of people up for the day from Kuta, Tirta Gangga was a welcome relief.
