A Pasta Paradise at L'Osteria Pizza e Cucina
My return to L'Osteria Pizza e Cucina, this time with an aim to experience the full range of their pasta dishes, was nothing short of delightful. The dining experience was enhanced by an array of pasta dishes that were beautifully crafted and tantalizingly flavorful.
The standout was the seafood pasta, a testament to the restaurant's knack for elevating simple ingredients to a sublime level. The perfectly executed soffritto with garlic added depth to the dish, with each bite revealing an orchestra of tastes, fresh from the sea.
The pesto pasta was equally impressive. The freshness of the pesto was undeniable, creating a symphony of flavors that brought a new perspective to this classic dish. Each mouthful was an affirmation of the skilled hands in the kitchen, leaving an imprint of authenticity and freshness that lingered long after the meal.
The tagliatelle with duck was a culinary adventure in itself. The bold choice of fennel provided an interesting spin on this dish. Although pleasing, I felt that a hint of Marsala or red wine could have added a touch of sweetness to balance the robustness of the fennel. It's not a critique, just a humble suggestion from an appreciative palate.
All in all, L'Osteria Pizza e Cucina left an indelible mark on my taste buds. It's not just a restaurant but a culinary experience that welcomes you to explore the heart of Italian cuisine through its exemplary pasta dishes. From the impeccable execution of seafood pastas to the exceptional freshness of their pesto, every dish here is a testament to their devotion to quality and...
Read moreL’Osteria is a beautifully designed restaurant with excellent food, well-portioned, flavourful, and cooked with care (the pasta was especially well done). Unfortunately, the service fell far below expectations and significantly impacted the overall experience.
Upon arrival, I wasn’t greeted despite staff being present. I had to walk in and almost find my own way to a table. Once I walked in, several staff members noticed me but simply stared from a distance, it felt a bit odd, as if I had interrupted something or walked into the wrong room. No one approached to greet or assist, and I was left standing unsure of what to do. My wine glass sat empty through two courses without anyone offering a refill, and at no point during the meal did a staff member check in to ask if I was enjoying it.
While I was eventually asked if I wanted dessert, by then, the lack of warmth and attention had already made the atmosphere feel cold and uninviting. It’s disappointing, especially given the quality of the food and the number of staff on the floor.
Suggestions for Management: • Ensure guests are greeted at the door with a warm welcome. • Train staff to be more proactive and attentive—notice empty glasses, finished plates, or signs a guest may need something. • Simple gestures like “How was your meal?” can make a big difference in how valued a guest feels.
L’Osteria has great potential. With improved front-of-house training and a focus on hospitality, it could be an outstanding dining experience, not just a good one. Would I go back - nope! Far too many nice places like La Baracca where the service was warm...
Read moreI think the picture shows how disappointed we are after dining at this restaurant. We left after having just one or two bites because we felt so disgusted.
We ordered carpaccio, carbonara, and gnocchi. The carpaccio was still acceptable—not the best, but just okay. As for the other dishes, we can't really find the right words to describe them. Maybe "terrible" or "awful"?
Sorry, but we’re just being honest customers. The service was also awful. You should have provided your staff with more training, especially to foster a more attentive attitude toward customers. Having a lot of staff means nothing if they can't deliver great hospitality. There was no sincerity at all.
Another point is that before we were seated, we noticed the table had an empty water glass. I thought they would serve us regular water, but when I asked for warm water, they said it was chargeable. They removed the glass and gave me another cup of warm water instead. I was wondering what the point of putting an empty glass on the table was if you’re not going to serve it. Is it just for display? Only the restaurant and God know why.
To be honest, we’ve never felt so disappointed before. The overall experience was terrible, and we regret coming to this place. The reviews do not accurately reflect how good the restaurant and its food...
