Nelayan Restaurant & Puri Bar — Restaurant in Kuta Selatan

Service- usual Balinese superb hospitality, very friendly, clarified and make us understand the Balinese culture, and clear explanation on dish.

Food- very good, seafood is fresh, nothing is over or under seasoned, great taste fusion of western and Balinese. Except for the coconut milk used in the seafood dish tasted weird.

Drinks- very interesting cocktails with local twist. Although tasted a little diluted, but still good enough.

Ambience- great ambience facing the beach, with live band, beautiful decor and structure

Pricing- typical hotel restaurant level, expecting to pay up to 500-700k per pax.

Booking- since it was a last minute decision to pick this place for dinner, when calling the restaurant, they don’t seem to show interest in assisting us in reserving a table, as the person mentioned it’s fully booked and to come around 9, when we arrive there were many empty tables, hence not too sure if we missed the crowd or they didn’t want the hassle in assisting us in reserving.

Conclusion- definitely will return if they able to maintain the great service, food, and ambience.

Not sure how much I can rave about this restaurant. The atmosphere from the time of arrival is second to none. Great ambiance, lighting and immediate hospitality from this exceptional staff! The decor is very traditional Balinese and places right on the beach. Overhead seating as well as outdoor beach seating is available. Nightly live music creates a very surreal relaxing feel before,during and after the meal is complete. The ocean breeze on a very clean beach and in addition lounge chairs to sit back and watch the sunset before you take a table for a meal. Again the staff is the backbone of this outstanding restaurant from the guys at the bar to the host, waiters and chefs. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting and tasting the food from the executive chef ...Chef Adi and this man is a culinary genius! The brilliant presentation and art of his cooking. The seasoning perfection and culinary Decadence is definitely Top tier! I suggest making a trip to this property for anyone visiting Bali. This place is magical and a staple in Jimbaran...

The service and atmosphere here are incredible. The staff is wonderful, caring, and genuine. The setting is perfect, and it is on the edge of the beach in a quiet area.

Unfortunately the food is nothing special. It's okay, it's good... I guess. For the price, you really expect food that will excite and wow you, but this meal was lacklustre. 170k for an appetiser seafood soup that has half the character and a third of the flavour you'd find in any of the nearby Warungs. The special seafood sharing platter for 2 at 990k was the main letdown. The prawns were quite tasty, the clams didn't taste of much, the lobster was a small portion, and again, uninspiring, the fish and squid were good. The sambal trio was almost there, but all 3 were without any spice.

The juices were great, as were the sorbets. But for a 2000k bill for 2, I expected...
