We headed to AKUA de Bilbao for Spanish tapas and cocktails, which was exactly what we felt like and hoped that they were going to be good. We went for: -Balinese clams with garlic & parsley sauce, which were tender and delicious and the side of fresh baked bread allowed us to soak up the saucy goodness. -Andalucian baby squid & aioli, which were melt in your mouth tender. Homemade chorizo croquettes with béchamel, this wasn't my thing but my partner who is a cheese fan, absolutely loved them. Green olives stuffed with anchovies - salty goodness. Chorizo, Salami and Cured Loin from Iberian pig meat platter.. Delicious.. Definitely my thing. Manchego sheep cheese - as expected it ticked the box. Piquillo pepper stuffed with beef cheek, béchamel & piquillo sauce.... Now this was friggin amazing. An absolute Gem.. It was tender, and the flavours literally burst in your mouth. I could have had 10 of these. This was my favourite.
They also had 2-for-1 cocktails which we just kept flowing, and it was the perfect way to wind down another day in Bali.
Dessert was a Burnt baked cheesecake, which I am told (cause I don't like them), was near perfect. I had the Affogato which was a bloody good Affogato.
This was a great place to stop by for dinner. We ate 9 dishes and had around 12 generous cocktails for RP2,000,000....

Every single dish at AKUA Mediterranean Restaurant is a masterpiece. From the first bite, you can feel that everything here is cooked with real passion and love for flavor.
The pizza is out of this world — thin, crispy, full of golden bubbles, and insanely tasty. The dough is perfect: light, slightly smoky, and addictive. The prawns are the best I’ve ever had in Bali — fresh, juicy, perfectly grilled with just the right touch of garlic and olive oil.
The menu has so many highlights — from fresh seafood and tapas to flavorful salads and perfectly cooked fish. Every dish feels balanced and vibrant, with that true Mediterranean soul.
The restaurant sits right across Jimbaran Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The open terrace upstairs gives you a breathtaking sunset view over the bay. Sitting there with a glass of chilled wine, ocean breeze, and a plate of something divine — it’s an experience, not just a dinner.
Excellent quality, fair prices, and food that easily competes with top restaurants anywhere in the world. Don’t miss it — AKUA is a must-visit...
