Pause Café — Restaurant in Kuta Selatan

The place has an unappealing facade, but their pastries and bread are sooo good! In the sense that the way they do their dough is fantastic. Their rendition of the cinnamon roll is mediocre but the pastry, oh my, perfect for me and my partner since it is flaky but still 'meaty' (chewy). I ordered hot ham and cheese sandwich with brown bread. It comes with a side salad. Tiny humble looking thing, but phenomenal in taste. My partner ordered beef burger, it comes with fries and side salad. The fries are fat and fresh, so yummy. The beef burger is also great. Side salad is, well, it serves its purpose and let's just leave it at that. The pastries so good, we brought back some croissants too. Parking is available. No outdoor seats, but comfortably air conditioned....

I would definitely not return to this place. We ordered two baked eggs on avocado but they never mentioned in the menu that it had cheddar cheese and that the eggs were poached. The avocado had some (small) cuescos and it was really difficult to eat, we ate only half.

When the waiter approached, we explained the situation and on his part there was no help to improve or give us any attention for the bad time. At the time of payment, the waiter did not show us the bill first and charged items at a higher price (because we never had a fruit salad). The truth is we just wanted to leave...

They offer a delightful breakfast selection and a variety of French pastries, all baked fresh on-site. You can also find macarons, doughnuts, and freshly baked bread.
