Absolutely horrendous! Trust me and avoid this place during your visit to Bali at all costs. Went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary after recommendation from our driver. Place run by goons. Booked 1 day in advance and was shown a nice pic of the decoration. However upon turning up, we saw that they had used the same chairs and table decoration as they do for all walk in customers. Additionally, the placard and stands were all torn and not what I was shown the day before. Upon refusing to accept this and walking away, the staff who were all nice at first, started to show their true colours. Shouting, abusing, calling names, and at one point one of them opened his shirt to ask for a fight. At no point in time did I refuse to pay for the decoration (tbh I shouldn’t even have to as they hardly put any effort). However they did not care that we were tourists and it was our special day. Worst experience in Bali ever. Kept on saying “if u don’t pay we will call the police.” We should have just told them to call, as there is nowhere in the world you should be intimidated to pay like this... Avoid my mates at all cost and definitely call the cops. I didn’t as I did not want to waste any more time on these low life’s and spoil the rest...
Read moreThey served us rotten fish. I had to sip it out of how disgusting the bowels area was but my girlfriend ate some of it and got food poisoning through the night. When mentioned that the fish was not in good condition and tasted very bitter they said it was the normal taste of that area. Very expensive. Almost 900k for 2 grilled fish, some tough rubbery prawns and 1 beer. They wanted to charge us 190k for 1kg of mussels and said that 1kg of mussels was approximately 10 mussels because of the shell. What are they made of? Lead? In U.K. 1 kg of mussels is a massive bag. Only cash so had to go to an ATM. Also, when we were browsing around to find a place to eat one of the waiters of a restaurant said "Come in and eat without caring about the price" as we were leaving. The area is full of tourist buses coming so the prices are massively inflated. You'd be better on the southern area of the bay in any small cafe to sample some local fish. A night to forget. Definitely not coming back to that side...
Read moreAfter reading previous reviews I wonder if we were all at the same place. We are very tolerant people and generally don't write reviews or complain but on this occassion I felt I had to share our experience. Our tour guide organize a special night for us a romantic dinner on the beach sounds perfect but the dining experience was very disappointing .We ordered the $165 platter the only thing we enjoyed was the pre dinner drink.Lobster was dry, grilled snapper also dry and of course full of bones very little salvageable meat.Sweet and sour prawns weren't shelled,I didn't eat any crab my husband said don't bother. To top it off when we went to pay bill which ended up being $254 AU, I saw a rather large rat run across the ceiling beam.I couldn't wait to get out...
