Bamboo Garden Cafe — Restaurant in Kuta

I do not normally make this kind of negative posts but this place really left me speachless (in the worst way). And having the manager answering my post calling me a thief only confirms my point. Facts: We went there for lunch last Sunday (4 adults, 2 kids) and maybe it's not the best option. We sat and there was only one more table occupied with a group of 6 people, already eating. In the time we were there, only 2 other tables got occupied; 4 people each. They were 2 girls serving and 1 person in the kitchen. We ordered. One of the dishes was for my son, nasi goreng tidak pedas, and they came 20 min later with mie goreng pedas. We turned it back to the kitchen and... Have to wait one hour and a half for the rest of the food to come. After one hour waiting, one of my friends asked about the food and "I am sorry" was the only answer. We kept waiting. The place is WAY too pricey for this kind of service and the food wasn't even so good. When the bill came, with no explanation what so far, I asked for a discount. The waitress said "I am sorry" a thousand times and tried to convince me to give up on it. I did not. As she couldn't made her mind on calling the manager and we really had to leave (we did not expect to have such a long meal for starters), I told her to simply discount the non-alcoholic drinks from the meal (4 juices: 100k). The, she called the Manager who, on the phone, and without telling us he/she was coming to see us, offered a 10% discount (around 85k). I was very angry and not up for a bargaining at this point. I only wanted to leave so I paid according to the discount I proposed and left with my family. Having to wait one hour and a half when you're coming to the place with kids (it is supposed to be a family friendly place) is simply unacceptable. Not getting any explanations for the delay, not being offered ANY kind of compensation and, when you complained, being insulted by the Manager... I really do not understand how anyone could come to a...

Way too overpriced. I bought their small seafood platter that costs IDR 120k, what I got was: 3 single clams, 2 mini prawns, 1 portion of sautee kangkung and grilled fish. I mean they don't give any description in the menu what each size consists of so when I see what I got and paying for that much, totally NOT worth it.

The taste is rather very average for something that's quite costly. I know a cheaper seafood-specialist restaurant that costs a lot cheaper and has way better quality and taste.

Mosquitoes all over the place. It's an open space I know but I don't want to come home having dengue or having itchiness when waiting or having my food.

Their ribs suck. The meat was rather hard and I've got to chew a lot. The taste is like eating rubber. Totally not worth it even if it was cheap.

A WHOLE prawn on my tomyum noodles. Really? Couldn't bother cut the head off and take off the shell?

My first and last time choosing this restaurant as a place to eat. Very bad. I gave 2 stars because at least the waitress/waitresses were...

Kebetulan datang untuk makan malam bersama keluarga utk pertama kalinya. Tertarik mencoba krn tempat meriah, ada live music, konsep dekorasi resto bagus sesuai nama. Ada showroom kendaraan old style termasuk becak juga buat spot foto. Saya pilih sofa yg paling ujung (dekat toilet) walaupun banyak tempat duduk lain yg available, namun sengaja menghindari asap dr kitchen. Tapi ternyata sama saja, aroma asap dr kitchen tetap menyengat bikin terbatuk2. Entah kitchennya dilengkapi dg exhaust hood atau tidak ya, yg pasti cukup terganggu dg aroma asap yg kemana2 dan tetap tercium walau sudah duduk di posisi yg jauh dr kitchen. Malam itu meja cukup terisi, tapi tidak penuh. Minuman disajikan dg cepat, tapi makananya lama banget. Pembeli lain datang berdua belakangan dr kami, makananya disajikan lebih dulu. Saat waiter ditanya, ekspresi seperti bingung, jadi tidak menjawab concern kami juga. Harga minuman tidak terlalu tinggi (dari segi angka) utk ukuran resto di food court, walaupun resto lain di food court Dewi Sri ada juga sih yg jual dg harga lebih rendah. Sayang kualitasnya juga demikian, jus alpukatnya encer, rasanya manis aja saking encernya, dan ada rasa sepet seperti alpukat mentah. Jus nya bertekstur, ada grindilan2 kecil buahnya, entah memang konsepnya begitu, proses pengolahan yg kurang pas, atau alatnya yg tidak bisa memproduksi jus buah yg lembut sebagaimana seharusnya minuman yg disebut jus. Jus sirsak sangat asam, sepertiny krn sirsak yg diolah terlalu muda. Jaman sekarang harga sebenarnya relatif, biar angka besar tapi kalau masih bisa dinikmati, tentu worth it. Tapi sayang, dg harga yg dibanderol, dibandingkan dg rasa masakan yg biasa aja, porsi yg bahkan tidak bisa dibilang sedang2 saja, bahkan buat saya yg makannya gak banyak, yah.. wajar kalo banyak yg komen mahal. Bukan berarti yg komen mahal gak mampu bayar, tapi memang angka yg dicantumkan seharusnya mencerminkan kualitas, jadi sepadan dg apa yg didapatkan oleh customer.

Payment dg credit card, card commissionnya dibebankan ke customer, jadi pembayaran dg CC dicharge 2.5% lebih tinggi. Seandainya makan malam kami berkesan, tentu tidak masalah dg tambahan biaya apapun. Sayang dg menunggu lama, customer lain datang belakangan tapi menerima pesananya lbh dulu, rasa masakan biasa aja, porsi tidak setara, jus buahnya encer, waiter dikasi kritik juga gak nyambung malah bingung plonga plongo, semua jadi terasa sangat mahal di resto ini.

I hate to give a bad review in social media, however, frankly speaking, this restaurant is not recommended in term of price compared to the taste, portion, and the comfort...
