Good service, when we arrived about 4:45 PM on a Monday there were plenty of vacant tables and many staff available to attend to you. Waitress was prompt with menue and cold tea for free on arrival. Found menue a bit hard to understand on what came with the BBQ meat order. So we ordered a coke and Large Bintang ($50 ) ++ could not see any wine only Korean fermented , did not try this. We ordered the marinated Chicken , thin sliced Beef rice and mixed Mushrooms. The waitress came back promptly set up the BBQ and delivered the various dishes of salad , Kimchi , a greens dish I think was sea weed, pancake bread and two different dips. The waitress started to cook for us, firstly by pouring egg mix around the BBQ, this was nice and unexpected to go with the meat and mushrooms we ordered. Chicken was cooked first along with like scrambled egg mix. Then the Mushrooms and thin Beef strips. Everything good but did not enjoy the thin Brisket beef strips, to thin and fatty. There was probably enough for 4 people to share. At the end we was offered a free ice coffee, water melon or another Korean drink. Nice touch to finish off. Probably expensive for two people at Rp535 included 15% ++ but if 4 share would have been reasonable. Would prefer they had a small mixed meat package special for two people that explained what was included and cheaper. Having said that you can get set dishes for less than Rp100. Overhall an...
Read moreAuthentic korean food in Bali!!! The banchan was generous; I always love when korean restaurants give korean pancakes as part of banchan! We have a similar restaurant in California with the grilling meat egg moat (and also corn cheese moat) called baekjong kanghodong and I actually prefer this place in Bali better!!! You have the option of having staff grill the meat for you at a different area and brining it to you or having them grill it at your table or doing it yourself. My only complaint about this place is that it was SUPER hot in the restaurant. They didn’t turn on the AC until nearly the end of the meal (it didn’t help to have the hot coals in front of us to grill meat) and I didn’t realize other tables had fans blowing towards them. I asked for one and it was significantly better. Aside from that, the food was fantastic & cured my craving for korean food!!! The galbi tang was very flavorful and good! Even my picky sister liked it! Highly recommend.
The only thing for tourists is that they give free water in a pitcher (like they usually do in Korean restaurants) and free washed lettuce. We were a little scared to drink and eat them for bali belly. We ordered bottled water so it would be good to know if it’s safe to drink and if the vegetables are washed with purified...
Read moreI had lunch at Galmaegi Kuta and was impressed by the generous spread of Korean dishes. The meal began with a variety of banchan (side dishes): fluffy steamed egg, creamy corn salad, savory kimchi, and a light seaweed soy dip that added a refreshing touch.
The highlight was the samgyeopsal the perfectly grilled pork belly, lightly seasoned and juicy. It paired beautifully with fresh lettuce and garlic for classic Korean wraps. I also enjoyed the hearty tofu stew with a rich, slightly spicy broth and soft egg inside, which balanced the smoky grilled flavors.
The restaurant kept the table lively with dipping sauces (Soy-garlic, chili-soy, and a tasty ssamjang paste )so every bite stayed exciting. Portions were generous, and everything tasted freshly prepared.
Overall, Galmaegi Kuta is a great spot for an authentic Korean BBQ lunch in Bali. The food is flavorful, the server and manager are friendly, he offered helpful suggestions and that made us feel truly welcome. Ah, one more, the relaxed atmosphere makes it perfect for a mid-day meal with...
