First off, the live band was incredibly loud – so much so that we couldn’t even hold a conversation. The cocktail menu was limited – just four options. We requested a Negroni (which was on the menu), but the waitress seemed confused and said she needed to check with the manager. Oddly enough, they then told us a Negroni wasn’t available – despite the mixing ingredients being clearly visible at the bar. We got a Long Island instead.
Later, we asked for two shots of tequila, which were finally brought without issue. I then asked for a Baileys shot, and was told they didn’t have any – even though there were bottles of Baileys right behind the bar. The waitress offered something “similar” and said it was a new bottle they were letting us try. It tasted fine, so we asked for another round, but she had to ask the manager again. This time, the manager refused, claiming they had “run out.” That made no sense at all. Then, bizarrely, we were offered mocktails instead? At this point, we had only had one Long Island and two shots each – nothing excessive.
To top it all off, the bill was absurd. We were clearly overcharged, and it seemed they deliberately served us the most expensive drinks while denying what we actually asked for. The pricing was completely non-transparent and felt like a scam. Tourists avoid this place...
Read moreI've come to Ja'an for several times, it's almost twice or thrice in a month, it's always served very well, especially with "Adi" the bartender, yesterday was not so lucky, came over to sip a couple of cocktails, not really welcomed by the staff, i've just seated at the Bar and no one's approaches me, especially the lady at the cashier which she is make an eye contact with me, she show no respond, she didn't even show me the menu, although i already knew what i wanted to order, but then i felt so weird while a "Cindo" guy just came and seat in front of me, she literally just approaches him with smile and nice attitude and give him the menu. It's totally sickening situation. I hope you can traine the staff attitude with the EQUAL service. And too bad, i've always had whisky sour and highball served on the table, but the bartender told me that the housepouring is not available/sold out and show me the empty bottle, which is kind of unacceptable, come on it's housepouring, you can substitute to another brand with the same price, ended up ordering jagerboom and highball with another whiskey option.
Good things Ja'an will always be my favorite comfort place to enjoy my cocktails and music. Definitely will always...
Read moreI'm not quite sure whether this happens only to me or indeed the staffs aren't friendly? Among all he staffs this place has, I only know 4 people that treated me wih a smile. Others either didn't bother to look at me when serving me drinks, didn't bother to move the chair for me to sit when I asked is it available because I wanted to sit, or being grumpy when I canceled an order (a few seconds after I made it) due to my friend already opened a sofa. I would understand if this happens in the case of I came to this place on its peak time and I only came once or twice. But I came to this place almost everyday since the first time I know it, yet I still receive the same treatment.
Live music is cool, dj is not so bad though not extraordinary, food 7 out of 10, a little bit overpriced but understandable because of location wise, toilet's clean, parking spot is comfortable.
I personally love to be a regular in one particular place, but for this bar I would happily passed this at a moment's notice if I found a place with a better service.
Tl;dr: music is okay, food is okay, ambience is cool, price is okay, location wise perfect, but for the...
