My girlfriend ate here last week. It was might have been one of the worst restaurant experiences ever. We ordered the 350k sashimi platter. The salmon on it was so old, half the meat was brown and it smelled of rotten fish. We sent it back. The fish that was sent back, was not any better and was left uneaten. A good restaurant would have informed the owner (who was sitting outside drinking wine and didn't bother to investigate). We also found the seaweed salad to be quite gritty, like sand. Also uneaten. We mistakenly then ordered another dish, unagidon, 102,000 for a bowl of "sushi rice" (it lacked vinegar and good texture) with 3...yes 3 small pieces of unagi. I felt ripped off and not cared for well in a restaurant that charges such high prices with a 16% tax and service charge (but a receipt similar to a lalapan warung).
When we received the bill, we were given 3 different receipts. I politely tried to ask the server to explain, but she could not speak English. In the end, we paid 700,000 rupiah, left hungry...
Read moreI think I came to this place with a little too much of expectations. The reviews are great and the the decor looks promising. To be honest, I really like the vibes and feel, it has the tropical vibes but very much simple Asian eatery feel. The food is a bit of let down for me. I ordered the Okinawa Spicy Soba ramen (I think that's the name) and the portion is a little small for me and 1 piece of small pork belly for the meat, tho the taste is pretty decent. The California Rolls is a mess, the worst roll I've ever had. It just crumbled all over the place when you pick it up (forget about dipping into the soy sauce) and it's just not tasty. The staff seems a bit clueless on the menu itself and a bit slow, but they're nice. One of my friends asked for the beer coasters because she thinks they're really nice and the waiters kindly gave us for free, so that was sweet. Overall, it's good just not amazing. Maybe I ordered the wrong menu? Or came on the wrong...
Read moreTasty Japanese home cooking with decent food prices but relatively overpriced drinks. I ordered the curry pork rice during my visit here, which tasted quite delicious - while my friends ordered chicken dons and they said the dons were great. However, I think the restaurant tried to get more margins from the drinks, with relatively overpriced ocha (and they did not provide free refill either!). I ended up spent almost equally on drink and food. Other than that, I liked the semi-outdoor setting, which provided great air circulations for customers - this was rather comforting during COVID-19...
