New Opening only one week ago!! This place is so close to the Papaya Market in Kuta! After doing some shopping, we drove by enticed by the 18k Udon sign so we stopped in for a try!
The concept is very similar to Marugame where you order your Udon and then stop at a food bar to grab whatever sides or pairings you’d like. They have Shrimp Tempura, Chicken Katsu, Onigiri and Croquettes as a few mentioned items.
After ordering first of the Kake Udon and Curry Udon Ori, we went to the food bar to grab shrimp tempura and the chicken katsu. We were quite excited as we had been craving udon for quite some time and the owner was boasting handmade as we chatted with him.
The food was actually quite good and standard for what you would get at a cafe in Japan as the owner was also Japanese. The noodles were made perfectly and both the broth and curries were quite nice. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his katsu so much that he went up for another piece!
There were a few things that can be improved... All the staff should have been wearing masks at it is covid times and a couple were not. The food bar should have the food kept warm as it would taste better. The set up is a little confusing as the cashier is up front and the Ordering is way in the back.
Otherwise a pretty standard place that we would enjoy after a quick shop at papaya! Great location near all the Japanese...

The beef udon soup is hands-down one of the best I’ve had. I came back for it — that’s how much I loved it. On the second visit, I added gyoza and karaage chicken to the mix. At first, I was slightly disappointed there was no mayo with the karaage… until I took a bite. Juicy, perfectly seasoned — it didn’t need a thing. Just incredible.
There’s something special about a place when the owner is clearly behind the food — you can taste the care. Just like walking into a patisserie and seeing a proud Frenchman at the counter, here the Japanese owner brings authenticity and passion that shines in every dish.
If you’re after a traditional Japanese meal that hits every note, this...

But yes it is delicious for my local tasted.
The prawns chrispy snacks is not recommended. Too floury I almost dont find a meat in it . So it is a big no for me. I'll keep coming for any of their big portions...
