In no way are the reviews for this restaurant all legit. Don’t trust them.
➕ Very cheap ➖ Everything else
The atmosphere: I’ve seen many reviews commenting on the beautiful yet natural decoration. Sure, but I’d like to add that it’s all a bit weird, somewhat eerie, or “liminal.”
The staff: It seems like, apart from the two cooks, only one man was doing everything. Some reviews say the staff is friendly, while others mention a drunk waiter. The man was neither; not drunk, not friendly.
The wait: We ordered two appetizers and two main courses. It took them more than an hour to get our food. At some point, it was just funny, until we understood that some people were waiting for a long time while others received their food much quicker.
The food:
The bruschetta: It wasn’t really a classic bruschetta, but it was the best part of the dinner.
The Caesar salad: This would be the highlight of the dinner, in a bad way. It seems like the chef went with his own twist on the classic recipe. Somehow, there was no bacon, no croutons, the dressing was mayonnaise mixed with ketchup, and the lettuce was wrong.
Since the chef himself served the dish and called it a Caesar salad, and after reading multiple reviews, we understood that the dish was completely wrong. Somehow, it looked exactly like the Greek salad on Google reviews. It was also not a Greek salad.
There was a scrambled egg, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, ketchup and mayonnaise (let’s not forget), cucumber, and chicken.
There was a menu item named “chicken salad,” which we should’ve taken considering it could’ve been whatever we got.
The mi goreng: Somehow, it was a decent dish. The instant noodles weren’t cooked very well, some pieces of chicken seemed undercooked, but it wasn’t that bad.
The beef burger: Seems like the chef forgot to cook the mi goreng chicken but overcooked the extremely slim beef patty. The burger was presented with a black bun, for some reason, but it was somewhat decent looking. It was also served with fries that tasted like they’d been in the freezer forever and a side of the restaurant’s famous mayo-ketchup salad.
Inside the burger, we found a patty, lettuce, a slice of tomato, a slice of cucumber (please, no), another egg, and a fresh slice of the Indonesian variant of Kraft single cheese.
The price: It was so cheap. This is the main reason why the rating could be higher than one or two. It cost around 20 bucks for all that food plus some drinks.
I also thought the waiter would try to trick us into giving a good review, but no. In all, I can’t believe the review saying “hey, we’ve been there every day for a month.” This whole thing...
Read moreTo all the positive references, I don't have much more to add except to agree that it's true. It is a cosy restaurant with a very friendly owner who serves guests very relaxed. In the (neat, open) kitchen a couple of ladies prepare delicious meals. The owner mentioned that he had bought a fresh red snapper from a friend of his in the morning and offered it off the menu. It was so delicious, we almost ate our fingers off. The price-quality ratio is exceptionally good. We heartily recommend Dhipa Warung if you are looking for a place that offers delicious food in a cosy, casual atmosphere. We just didn't think of taking photos, we were a bit too busy with the food 😀 Fortunately, other guests took...
Read moreWe had an amazing time at this restaurant! As the sign states “great food, great prices”. The owner was very happy to have us and he took his time to explain his secret Balinese sauce (definitely order ANYTHING with this sauce! We’ll be trying to make it at home for sure). We had the grilled tuna and fish cakes, both of which were served with rice and vegetables and had that delicious Balinese sauce. We also had their Mie Goreng, which was one of the best we’ve had in bali. The space had a great vibe with good music and live edge wooden tables. The owner even mentioned he was adding a garden at the back for kids to play while parents dined. Great value, great food. Highly recommend...
