Shameless rip-off. The Muntig's Bar has a beautiful ambience, but that's about it.
I ordered Wagu Ribeye with Café de Paris Butter, and got a quarter-inch piece of rubbery and overcooked beef jerky with a sour, acidic, and solid piece of butter. It ended up costing me 450,000 rupiah (roughly $35), but truthfully I got better street food in Canggu for 15k Rupiah (roughly a dollar) and was just as filling.
The waiter asked me how the meal was, and I told him it was pretty bad, and explained why. He apologized, and that was about it, which is why I didn't give this rating one star.
I have always raved about the quality of food that Bali serves to it's tourists, and being from Hawaii, another tourist driven economy, I think I have a good standard for comparison. However, I guess that doesn't apply to Lombagen, which quite frankly I think the Muntis Bar is an embarrassment.
The Muntis Bar fakes the funk. I rate the quality of a restaurants by 1) quality of food 2) service 3) ambience. The Muntis Bar got it backwards.
I generally don't get steaks at non fine dinning restaurants, and the Muntis bar looks like one, yet their food certainly isn't up to par to fine dinning, more like college cafeteria.
I definitely do not...
Read moreVery enjoyable meal with great views. My wife and i had dinner twice here on our week in Nusa lembongan . They advertise as the only fine dining on the island. The food is quite good as well as the service for a small island but not quite what you would expect from fine dining.
The service staff were lovely however on our second visit no one came to take our drink order after we were shown to our table we had to call someone over after about 15 mins. My wife ordered a chenin blanc a white wine and red came out. We explained to the service staff and they wanted us to order another wine rather than replace the one that was wrongly brought out. My wife tried the red and said it was ok so she decided to drink it rather than ordering another wine. My negroni was very good.
We had the seafood platter which was very nice and fresh , nicely seasoned and had a lovey source.
We also ordered a desert cocktail with our dessert again the wrong drink come out to our table after a few minutes the correct cocktail turned up and they took the wrong one away.
Overall good food and views and we enjoyed both our nights we dined but definately room for...

We had the most incredible experience at Muntigs – everything from the food to the service was spot on. The quality of the dishes was next level – fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. You can tell the chefs here know what they’re doing.
The location is unreal too. Perched up with ocean views, it’s the kind of spot where you could sit for hours just soaking it all in. Whether it’s a casual lunch or a special dinner, it’s got the perfect vibe.
What really made it for me though – I celebrated my birthday there, and they went above and beyond. They surprised me with an absolutely epic chocolate mud cake that was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Super rich, moist, and made with so much care. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the night feel really special.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming the whole time – genuinely lovely people who really look after you.
Massive thanks to the team at Muntigs – you made my birthday one to remember. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the island. Can’t wait...
