Lunak Café by The Sea — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

Ambiance and decor was nice. Restaurant faces the sea and it’s a good spot to watch the sunset. They also had some cocktails for 50k during happy hour. I ordered spring rolls and gado gado, two of the few vegetarian options they offer. Couldn’t evaluate the taste of food because I had a cold but the presentation was nice. The access there was not easy unless you’re on a scooter. The two servers were not very communicative or friendly, also their English was not great and they seemed unprepared. One of the servers was rude and carried a young cat outside of the restaurant by the scruff in an aggressive way. The animal was not bothering anyone. Funny to note they mention in Google that dogs are allowed. Also when I asked where I could get a taxi, they suggested that the same rude server brought me on a scooter. It sounded like a favour but she charged a lot and made up the price on spot when I arrived to the accommodation. Felt like a scam. Please invest in more friendly staff. We went there for lunch. Firstly, the view is absolutely breathtaking. You have complete view of the sea and the terrain. We were the only customers at the time, so the whole place was to ourselves. We went with seafood penne, creamy mushroom pasta, mushroom pizza, banana fritters, mixed fruit smoothies, and coconut. The food was amazing. The pasta was super creamy with lots of cheese. The pizza was filled with mushroom and cheese. The penne filled with assorted seafood. Banana fritters with ice cream and chocolate. Absolutely loved the food. The portions were big and enough to fill you up. The restaurant itself was well decorated and clean, including the washrooms. Their price was decent given the quality of food. Definitely one of my favorite places in Bali/nusa penida. Staff were absolutely amazing, we were able to access the beach from the restaurant and swim, the stairs are slippery so be careful (the staff even warned me of this 😊). The food and alcohol was very reasonably priced and absolutely amazing. My partner ordered the margarita pizza which we both loved (I had to have a cheeky bite cause it looked as amazing as it tasted).
