It’s like whoever designed and built Nome did it with a lot of love and skill and then sold it or left town and the people left running it don’t quite know how to maintain the gorgeous fixtures or use the obviously excellent kitchen equipment.
Dory fillets in the fish and chips were old and clearly frozen. They had indeed been dipped in batter as the menu promised but then the deep frying oil hadn’t been hot enough so the batter had all slipped off the fish and the oil had soaked into it making it deeply unappetising. The overcooked batter shards, possibly from someone else’s meal judging by the style taste, were piled on top of the soggy tasteless mess of what had once been some kind of fish. If this was an attempt to imitate some kind of nouvelle cuisine deconstructed battered fish, it failed.
Fries were pre frozen, undercooked and the opposite of crisp. Salads were undressed. Sauces written in the menu as homemade were clearly from a bottle amd loaded with artificial sweetener and thickeners.
The one faint bright spot was a passable, though under seasoned, pizza base. Clearly fresh made and nicely crispy from what I’m assuming is an excellent oven. Sadly the toppings were underwhelming - salami and ham that if they ever had anything to do with a pig had long forgotten it, cheap pre sliced olives tasting like little chips of cardboard and wafer thin wisps of button mushroom that had no texture or flavour whatsoever. Of course the whole was completely unmarred by any trace of seasoning.
Calamari was decent squid in a tasteless oil soaked crumb and 5 rings cost 80k…which is an impressive bit of business considering squid at local markets is one of the cheapest products on offer.
The meal was completed by a coconut water that was fermented - not in a good way.
The staff very intelligently did not ask us how the food was.
All around the place had signs of decay - the waterline of the once pristine white pool is stained an unappealing brown and the plaster at the bottom is very chipped showing dark brown marks. The aromatic oil bottles in the bathrooms are empty of oil, the cushions on the beautiful lounge beds have something itchy crawling in them. The hanging decorations all have bits missing and there’s a weird smell as you come up the stairs to enter.
But the view is gorgeous and the music was excellent. So there’s that, for...
Read moreQuite disappointed here. Driving by and online it looks very nice but....as many others have commented the pool is GREEN, I didn't see anyone get in during the 4 hours I spent there. It needs to be addressed, where you can see thru the green water you can see most of the paint on the pool has worn away. The wooden floor boards are also falling apart, more than once I nearly tripped over just walking past the bar. Then the biggest disappointment was the food. I wanted the fruit smoothie bowl but was told the didn't have pineapple or mango which is odd given where we are. I opted instead for the chocolate smoothie bowl which was disgusting. It came out in a huge bowl and appeared more like a brown soup with a banana, I sent it back but the next one came out exactly the same. The coffee was good tho. At the sea front the walkway has collapsed and they seem to be repairing it so there's construction work ongoing while you're trying to enjoy the nice view. The staff are very nice but the management or owner needs to take a serious look at their business plan, they must be losing money right now and won't put money in to keep it up to customers expectations...
Read moreSo we arrive and got a table no issues.
Seemed like a nice clean and good atmosphere with the music, very relaxing.
It took 20 minutes for anyone to come serve us, we ordered drinks that took 30 minutes.
We ordered food, they came back to check as they hadn’t wrote it down. The food took over an hour to come, once it came the food was cold except 1 dish that had probably been made last. So we sent 3 dishes back as they was really cold. Then 20 minutes after they brought over another dish that they had forgot and so had I after so long. Then they bring back one of the dish’s we had sent back trufle fries there was minimal fries on the plate after 30 minutes later.
They didn’t bring back the other 2 plates as they had forgot.
Then when we went to pay they tried to tell us they had brought them back until the waiter realised they hadn’t brought them back to the table.
So much potential this restaurant but not enough staff and the service is not very good !
