Very mixed experience, I'm afraid. Like many people we had read the excellent reviews and I had lunch there. I'm happy to admit that the Tuna cooked in banana leaves was fantastic. Very tasty and moist, undoubtedly the best tuna I'd ever had.

We decided to return in the evening and to be honest, it was quite woeful. The restaurant was full so we sat and waited at a small table at the rear, which was no problem though our pleas for 2 beers while we waited fell on deaf ears.

Eventually some people left and we seated ourselves and ordered. We knew that the food would take a time (we'd read the reviews!) but we still couldn't get a drink! In the end I got up and took 2 beers out of the fridge and told the owner what I'd done. He apologised for being slow.

When our food eventually arrived it was extremely disappointing. I had the tuna in ginger sauce. Er, the sauce wasn't ginger. It might have had ginger in it, but it was basically a teriyaki. Similarly, my wife ordered spaghetti with tomato sauce and basil. Er, the amount of basil was negligible and the dominant, indeed overwhelming taste, was garlic. She couldn't finish it.

In addition the toilet was a bit grubby by Indonesian and there was...

A Hidden Gem in Lembongan – Tumpang Sari is a Must-Visit! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We stumbled across Tumpang Sari and were so glad we did! I had the Nasi Goreng Special and it was absolutely delicious – full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and incredibly good value for money. It’s rare to find food this tasty at such a low price!

The restaurant itself is spotless – super clean and well-kept, with a relaxed and welcoming vibe. But what really made the experience was the lovely staff – so friendly, warm, and genuinely keen to make sure we had a great meal.

If you’re in Lembongan and looking for authentic local food in a beautiful, clean setting with kind people – don’t miss Tumpang Sari. We’ll...

We're glad we made the effort to come find this little gem down a dark side street. If you want an authentic Balinese meal served up with care, this is your place. No frills, no fancy ocean views, just honest home cooking and a mini guard dog - a yappy Chihuahua - for ambiance.

Our family ordered a few local dishes and shared them. Stand out was the tuna cooked in banana leaves with rice and a lemongrass ginger chutney. The banana fritters were also a treat!

We obviously looked like tourists and had not specified so I think they toned down the spiciness for us just in case, but the lovely owner was happy to bring out some...

Stumbled across this Warung since our hotel was so close. Food INCREDIBLE! Service amazing. This family is on top of it. Prices perfect. I thought that they must have amazing reviews online or something because people kept coming in. Well, here we are! 5 stars. Here currently and suddenly every single table filled. They did such a great job of managing and attending to each table and bringing certain drinks/food out first so each table felt cared for while they cooked all the other food. Will be back!
