Hai Bar And Grill — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

My partner and I had a bit of misfortune and ended up in the medical centre in Lembongan, we were there recieving treatment for a couple of hours and happened to run into Ayu who was there with her son. We asked the staff at the medical centee if they had any recommendations for food on the island, somewhere with good Western food.

Ayu (without hesitation) suggested Hai Bar and grill on Mushroom beach. We didn't check reviews or anything and we wondered skeptically there.

Well... THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. the staff were so attentive and the views were stunning. We ordered the bruschetta and Cesar Salad for starter, For main, Fish and Chips and my partner ordered the Beef Rendang.and for desert i managed to squeeze in the a desert which I can't remember the name of, but it was some kind of deep fried strawberry ice cream. All were so flavourful and the beef in particular was slow cooked and delicious. We were very impressed.

We actually ended up visiting Hai bar 3 times during out visit to Lembongan and each time it never disappointed. They even let us use the pool at the resort and facilities whilst we swam on the beach.

Ayu happened to work at the restaurant which she never mentioned initially at our first meeting and we met her the second at our second visit to Hai Bar. she was lovely and we hope to go back when we visit the island again...

We recently dined at Hai Bar & Grill in Nusa Lembongan, a charming beachside restaurant that's part of the Hai Resort.

The ambiance of the establishment was its standout feature. With breathtaking seaside views and a peaceful environment, it's an ideal spot for couples seeking a serene dining experience. Furthermore, the staff were efficient and dedicated, ensuring swift service throughout our meal.

As for the food, I opted for the vegan burger, while my partner chose the fish and chips. The fish was commendable for its taste, and the chips were satisfactory. However, my vegan burger, though flavourful, unfortunately disintegrated after just one bite, which was rather disappointing.

On the note of desserts, we found the vegan cheesecake, priced at 65k IDR, to be below our expectations in terms of flavour. To provide a fuller picture, our total bill amounted to 568k IDR, which included a starter, two mains, two desserts, and a pair of radlers.

Considering both the positives and areas of improvement, we'd give Hai Bar & Grill a rating of 3/5 stars. While the ambiance and service were excellent, the food quality, especially in relation to the price, left some room for...

This restaurant is good enough for addressing basic hunger needs, nothing else, completely passable. Only reasons to come here are if you are staying in the resort and feel lazy to go out or if you want to use the facilities, in which case you should just order drinks.

This is definitely not anything amazing and I wonder how can the other reviewers say that, they must have gone to the now closed fine dining place next door or maybe the menu and chef changed due to the pandemic.

I came this week (May 2021) and asked the guy what they are known for. He recommended the pizza but it was a big disappointment. It is probably a frozen pizza sourced from Pepito supermarket in Sanur. I don't know how a place can serve such a bad pizza for 100k. I don't cook but I'm sure I can make a better pizza at home using Google and simple ingredients. It was also not cooked enough and I felt bloated and had a hard time sleeping that night.

The fish my partner got was just ok, for an absurd 150k after taxes.

If you want anything more than just addressing an unbearable hunger I would suggest staying away...
