Warung Kopi ASIANG — Restaurant in Pontianak

Get the quarter boiled eggs. Perfect nutrition in the morning for anybody. Add pepper, pinch of salt and a few drops of soy sauce. Coffee is also very good. I dont usually drink coffee, but exceptiin here for the iced milk coffee... My wife and mother-in-law love it too... There is a rich assortment of snacks and cakes to choose from. Most important is the atmosphere. The variety of people you get to meet here. Eavesdrop on their conversations, conspiracies, boastings and just plain silly talks... you will be the master of Ponties characters. The chest naked uncle is sure an icon. Just stone around and watch his fluid movements. Mastered through pure dedication and pleasure of doing what someone loves over and over and over again throughout one's live. Sate next door is good. No nonsense satay for the hungry. Nothing to complain about, but not that it is too good that I carve for it. The vegetable salad with shrimp paste is also good, if you like veggies... and shrimp paste. Then the herbal pork belly soup (kwe kia theng) across the street. Good too... but there is a better one at jl....

My friend picked me up and brought me to a traditional coffe shop to experience morning life in town. It was on Friday and still 07.14 in the morning when we arrived at Warung Kopi (coffee shop) ASIANG, located at Jalan Merapi (Merapi street), Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. But, the shop had already been full of customers. I didn't see any other coffee shop along this alley. This Warung Kopi ASIANG opens at 03.00 o'clock in the morning, and closes at 01.00 noon. Look at the picture carefully : the coffee shop owner himself mixed the coffee for his customers....and, he wore no shirt when he did it. Yes, that's the way he does his job. I drank 2 cups of black coffee there to show you that I realy enjoyed the ASIANG's...

Coffee is the best in here. Plus there are lots of Indonesian snacks for drinking coffee companion. Manusia varieties of bread and authentic Indonesian cakes. But you have to come early, they usually are finished in the lunch time. You can order from hawkers who sells their food products outside Asiang coffee shop. They have Indonesian porridge, Indonesian satay and many other stalls outside and you can dine them inside the coffee shop too. The owner is very kind despite his looks. However they need to improve their service, some of the waiter are still chewing their food while serving customer. The price of the coffee is consiserably...
