My very honest review: I really think you should reconsider the pricing of the food and drinks. I absolutely don't understand how almost every food item is over 100k, given that the place is quite casual. I guess this place offers you a nice view of the paddy fields, and they have a pool, but there are beach clubs and restaurants with paddy fields with equally nice views that have fairer prices.

Today I had the Long Beach omelette, which I thought was good and somehow well priced, but looking at other items on the menu, it is beyond me how an extra smoked salmon would cost you 95k. It would be around 40-60k for a tasty, high-quality smoked salmon at other places. Also, a brisket sandwich is 185k, before tax and service - there's another place in Canggu that specialises in beef briskets with an amazing beef brisket sandwich for 150k.

I also couldn't help but notice how some cocktails are over 150k. I reckon that people don't often come here for cocktails, but other places in Canggu - I mean, proper bars with excellent bartenders and hospitable waiters - cost just as much, if not less.

Is the price difference material? Maybe, maybe not. I'm just saying that this place doesn't have a particular specialty, so to charge that high, you need to reconsider how much your margins are.

A high point that I can offer is the quality of the food. I genuinely think that they are tasty and there are many healthy options as well. I'm just very skeptical about coming back here, knowing I might spend up to 200-300k for a place that doesn't offer very much in terms of service...

I’m in love! and I’ve come here a few times already, safe to say that I adore this place. Tucked away amidst lush rice fields, Mimpi Grocery is a hidden gem for brunch lovers. The serene ambiance creates a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The restaurant's rustic wooden interior and panoramic views of the surrounding greenery provide the perfect backdrop for a leisurely meal. Food and beverages are always fresh and tasty, such a cool atmosphere for working from cafe or just chilling while having your breakfast and coffee, coffee was good as always. They had a nice cute pool, an awesome choice of music, staff were friendly although the access was quite challenging if you driving a car, a motorcycle still fine. Their brunch menu is a culinary delight, featuring locally sourced ingredients prepared with creative flair. I particularly enjoyed their signature omelette, The flavors were fresh and vibrant, perfectly complemented by a rich, aromatic cup of freshly brewed coffee. The ambiance is truly enchanting, with the expansive rice fields stretching as far as the eye can see. The gentle breeze and chirping birds create a tranquil atmosphere that's perfect for a leisurely brunch. The attentive staff and prompt service further enhance the dining experience. Whether you're seeking a peaceful retreat or a memorable brunch outing, Fields & Forks delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended for anyone looking to savor delicious food amidst breathtaking natural beauty. Well done Mimpi, I will be back for...

I have always loved coming here because we genuinely enjoy the place, the food, and the concept. Since 2023, I have recommended this spot to many people, and several of my friends have also become regular visitors because of my suggestions.

However, today I experienced a very unpleasant and disappointing moment. The owner/manager idk who is he, suddenly approached us in a very rude and angry manner, accusing my friend of recording with a mirrorless camera (when in fact, he was only using it as a mirror to apply sunscreen). He even yelled at us in front of many other guests, demanding that we delete the footage, even though there was no recording at all.

We have always respected the rules here, which are clearly displayed on the tables. We are not ignorant or disrespectful. However, the way we were approached, aggressively and emotionally, without even an apology after they personally checked and confirmed there was no recording, made me lose all respect for this place.

Unfortunately, similar incidents have happened to other friends of mine as well. I’m sorry to say, but no matter how great the concept is, a place’s true value comes from its service and the way it treats its guests. Today proved that.

I will be sharing this experience with our community and network. It was a very unwise and unprofessional way to handle the situation.

Lost all respect. I will not be...

Value for money is overrated! Staff very friendly and a warm welcome. The food was mediocre. Poached eggs great, baguette and chicken breast dry and tough! I would have expected more for the hype surrounding the restaurant and the prices. Especially because every little thing is charged extra! Around €1.80 for a small piece of baguette (toasted), and instead of adding a little bit of butter. You have to buy extra a huge portion of butter which is impossible to eat with this small piece of bread. Unless you make a 1cm thick layer. Less big portion as „supplement“ (on request) inclusive with the bread would be a better experience and more sustainable. The pecorino was delicious. But it would be nice to see on the menu that it comes grated and not in pieces or in one piece. But the flavour was very good. The cafe lungo was rather a flat americano without a nice „crema“ despite the great piston machine. I would speculate that this is due to the grind. All in all, there are certainly many options that offer more for the same price. The island standard for western cuisine is high in Bali. And in many places you get breakfast with a lot of attention to detail in top quality. Unfortunately, this is not the case here. The atmosphere all round and the background music was pleasant and good. Not bad, but certainly still plenty of room for improvement.

I used to love this place. Two years ago, it was a standout spot with vegan options that were so good, they could easily convert a non-vegan like me. But sadly, the glory days are over. The menu has undergone drastic changes, and not for the better. The latest “innovation” is a build-your-own brunch concept, which sounds nice in theory but is shockingly overpriced in execution. A simple combo of sourdough, eggs, salmon, and some veggies now costs 200-250k—on par with what I’d pay for brunch in London. It’s outrageous, especially considering they’ve also scrapped free filtered water. The owner seems more focused on turning the space into an art gallery than maintaining its original charm. Repainting everything white, plastering random words on the walls, and steering the vibe towards “artsy” feels like a misguided attempt at reinvention. Sure, he’s an artist, and we’re “not supposed to get it,” but when a once-thriving spot is now mostly empty, the issue is clear. Back in 2022-2023, you couldn’t even get a table without a reservation. Now? It’s dead. I wish the staff luck, but with this kind of leadership, they’re going to need it. What a waste of potential. Food is still really nice quality, for that I have to give more stars 😊
