Latest review. 1 star. New staff and chef. Big big difference. I ask on WhatsApp if they have cold beer. They say yes they have. I ask them to put in freezer like they used to do before. When I get there I find the beer in the fridge.. turned down low.. nothing is cold. The beer in the freezer has jut been put there. I give up on this place. Same thing happened last time I was here. I pointed it out and they said they would change. People should know that most locals are truthful. Unfortunately some aren't. A wasted long journey because I believed them. I left before ordering food and found a much better place nearby.. Seafood Warung. Please note new staff and new chef. Previous review no longer applies. Given for historical info. I noticed other customers bringing their own cold wine and drinks. Shame that restaurant doesn't want to know how to use a fridge.. or maybe owner tells them to save electricity.. whatever. Shame that staff don't tell the truth or care about. They just laughed. (Previous review. 5 star. I've eaten here many times and always it's very good. My favourite is the red seafood curry.. not very spicy unless you ask. I have also enjoyed everything I ordered here, including the rendang and green curry. Have spoken with other customers when there and they are always happy. Thanks for good chef and courteous friendly efficient staff.. you ask and they do...
Read moreWe love the place!! Went there three times in two days (lunch, dinner, and dinner the next day). This is a great restaurant with amazing food and nice views. It’s traditional and not as touristy as many other places in Ubud city. We had the spring roles, chicken soup, duck, green curry, fried noodles, rice pudding and fried bananas. Everything was prepared fresh and ingredients are picked up from local market everyday by the owner. The owner and his wife always try to learn more about the people dining in their restaurant and are very open and welcoming. They gave us great tips about where to go in the area and even drove us home on our last night after we ate there multiple times. We really enjoyed every minute there and will come back again when in...
Read moreWe were craving for some traditional Balinese food and we came across this gem of a restaurant. The menu had a lot of delicious dishes so we ended up ordering four main courses, considering each one was priced between $2-$4. I’m glad we did, as the flavours in each dish were immense and quite different from one another. The beef rendang and seafood curry were by far the best. Probably one of the best beef rendang we have had since arriving in Bali. We plan on going again this week. Would highly recommend this restaurant for an affordable but...
