In comparison with the one from Jatayu… the staff is not as nice, the internet is so and so… and I don’t know. Maybe I’m rating it as 3 stars because I came a long way just to see this “bigger” one and I didn’t like it as much :)
I asked if I can go upstairs (‘cus downstairs was packed and they said yes and afterwards nobody came to take my order 😂) I waited for 20 minutes.
The usual language misunderstandings that happen in Bali, but never happened for me in the Jatayu one.
Then I ordered scrumbbled eggs (They were definetely NOT WELL COOKED - I kindly asked if they can make them well done for me and it went smooth, they did it).
The cappucino was ok, but then... I asked for a glass of water. (The water is free here) and.... it took them 20 minutes to bring a glass of water... 20 minutes!!! And I kept looking in their direction and saw the moment when a staff looked at another and they actually just forgot (I asked in the meantime 2 times about the water and they assured me it s coming:)) ) Yeah, unpleasent experience.
I was thirsty, didn t enjoy my meal, bad internet connection... and the positioning and pricing are above average, so obviously this is not a Warung.
So… :) it’s a cool place if you are not from Bali but once you get to live here and start comparing places, I would...
Read moreI visited this delightful cafe three times during my stay in Ubud and was consistently impressed. Home Cafe delivers on its promise of health-focused cuisine without compromising on flavor.
The two-story space features thoughtful interior design that creates a welcoming atmosphere. What truly stands out is their commitment to quality ingredients - you can genuinely taste the difference in their dishes made with Australian virgin olive oil and locally grown vegetables.
The menu is primarily European-style rather than Indonesian, making it a perfect retreat when you need a break from Balinese cuisine. While they don’t serve meat, they do offer excellent fish options alongside abundant vegan and keto-friendly choices. Their coffee is exceptional - definitely among the best I found in Ubud.
Minor inconsistencies included our first visit when they were surprisingly out of avocado (despite it featuring in over half their menu items), and some communication challenges with staff whose English proficiency varied considerably.
If you value clean, nutritious eating without sacrificing taste, Home Cafe should be on your Ubud itinerary. A refreshing alternative to typical tourist offerings that stays true to its health-conscious principles while delivering genuinely...
Read morePlease do not visit this place if You don’t want to ruin Your start of the day, or don’t come here ever. As others have mentioned, it’s all about the looks and overpriced as hell. We came with a though to have breakfast here, but stayed only for coffee at the end. Coffee was alright, but not worth 50k. The poor staff girls looked scared and unconfortable, completely different vibe You usually see elsewhere in Bali where You are welcomed with warmth and friendliness. All these aspects started me to question everything. So the ordering process, You need to scan qr code, that gives menu from where you order everything. Not very Bali, in my opinion, but ok fine. Then you are asked to tip at least 11%, you can’t skip this. That’s quite a red flag. And in the end there is option yo choose payment method, but by pressing it just chooses card payment option. Of course.
But wait, there is more.
Since you are paying by card, you are charged extra 3% payment fee. Nice. While i was standing there at the desk and looking down on tip jar that contained few coins, some receipts and lighter approved my suspicions. I just asked that poor girl if they even receive tips that are mentioned in the app you are ordering from. I guess You know the...
