Was feeling a little sceptical trying due to quite many bad reviews. But, we are glad we gave them a chance and puzzled with the bad reviews. Known Aloha since I was little. Going back, they are food was nicely cook. Flavoursome too, but not too many taste, which i dont like. Its a chinese food with clean pallete feel which i liked. Weve ordered 3 types of prawns, 2 veges, 1 nas gor and noodle all flavoursome. As to price and portion wise, I think is pretty standard with Aloha kinda a standard. 120k for prawn with salted egg, but portion was big than, so 120K was decent pricing. Of course this I am comparing with similar standard resto like Top Noodle and 3.6.9. Please do not let the review put you off. Fancy, straight forward, nice quick meal, i woukd go for it....
Read moreHad dinner a while ago. It was Sunday evrning dinner time, but it was empty when we arrived. At first we even thought it wasn't open. No one greeted us when we opened the main door. We almost left. During our dinner, only 2 other tables were occupied.
The food was okay, but nothing special. We think it's somehow different taste wise from the one they served at the old location. The highlight of our order was the salted egg softshell crab. Price wise quite expensive as portion was small.
Service was lacking. No one greeted us when we came in, and it took a while for the food to arrive, even the restaurant was practically empty at that time.
The restaurant was well decorated, but it felt weird eating in such a large room with so many empty tables. It was too...
Read moreA legendary chinese restaurant that's super popular back in the 90s. Taste wise it's good, perfect for the elderly. But for someone like me who loves their spices in their chinese food, this place's alright. Closest thing I can compare it to is Moi Restaurant, albeit this one being Cantonese and not Hakka style.
Ordered 7 dishes. All of them delicious except the Fried Pigeon which was too chewy and hard. The seafood's fresh, but they don't clean the shrimp's digestive tract. If you're okay with it, then it's all good.
Parking's limited but the place's usually not too crowded. Price wise it's still on par with most chinese restaurants in Surabaya....
