We loved Boncafe. Whenever we're going to dine out, Boncafe will be an option we'd add to the table.
It was my birthday, and here's to another fine experience that we thought we'd have. But we were wrong.
Most of the staffs seemed to be in a need of holiday. Our first server, a lady, was amazing. But the others were below standards. It was not full at the moment, but they seemed to be in a rush.
Our orders were not repeated; therefore an orange juice that we didn't order showed up. And they seemed upset when we told them we didn't order that.
When they deliver our bread, not even a smile, though we still spoken our gratitude.
When my wife paid the meal in the end, she uttered her disbelief that the staff were not so nice. If you're Indonesian, "jutek" is the word.
Food was good, though I tasted some fishy aroma when I swoop my greens on the hot plate, for the sauce for sure. I thought it was the brandy (I ordered a portion of Spring Chicken), but that was not the taste that I remembered from my previous experience.
Well, I thought, maybe it was just a bad day. But I decided to write this review when I found out that the drink that we didn't drink was billed (the orange juice that cost us 35k)! OMG. Our bad for not checking, but heck, they should've corrected it.
I gave Boncafe 5 stars before, but I'll stay for 2. And I think we'll not going to go back to this restaurant again, but I'll still reconsider...
Read moreI came here ordering Tenderloin Steak and Banana Ice Cream. My bf said that this is probably the best steakhouse in town. But, this is not as good as I wanted. First, this is not a kind of western steak with rare-medium-well level, the steak is overriped for me, it didn’t feel good in my teeth 😂 Plus the barbeque sauce is just so so. Anyway, before the steak came, they will give us bread and salted butter, the bread was smell too bad and I thought it came from the yeast but when it came into my mouth, it’s good, sweet, I’m just having a problem with the smell. Second, I ordered that Banana Ice Cream (I don’t really remember the name), it served with alcohol and the waitress had an attraction by giving a fire to the alcohol and BOOM, it’s just like a circus and we were very entertained 😂 But, unfortunately they served it in a hotplate with the banana under the ice cream. The banana is so hot and the ice cream is not too cold and when the ice cream fall into the hotplate, it’s melted, it didn’t feel good when we were eating hot and cold at the same time, right? This is probably the worst ice cream I’ve ever tasted. The place is too crowded, waitres unreachable, plus the air con is too damn cold. If you are a steak lover, please...
Read moreI recently visited a classic steak restaurant that has stood the test of time since the 70s. The atmosphere carries a nostalgic charm, and it’s clear why it has remained a favorite for decades.
I ordered the classic steak and rice steak, and both were absolutely delicious. The steak was tender, flavorful, and had a comforting taste that lingered pleasantly. Their signature steak sauce truly stands out—simple, classic, yet incredibly satisfying.
To complement the meal, I had the watermelon fruit punch, which was wonderfully refreshing. It tasted like it was made with real watermelon, adding a natural sweetness that was perfect for cleansing the palate.
The service was also exceptional. The staff were not only friendly and attentive but also carried themselves with genuine warmth and professionalism. It’s rare to find such well-mannered and helpful service these days.
Overall, this steakhouse remains a timeless gem—perfect for anyone craving a delicious meal in a welcoming,...
