The swordfish was interesting as not much restaurants here serve this fish, the citrusy sauce was refreshing in the palette and serving was fair.
The Smash Burger was very disappointing, the meat was kinda mushy, i could not tell from the texture between the meat, “caramelized onions” and whatnot, the taste was allover, but i like the Bowie special sauce that comes with the fries.
I specifically asked the server if they used the same patty for Chiba Burger as the Smashburger, he assured me that they are different. Lo and behold the patties are also as mushy as before, totally… not… like… the burgers i used to know….not a fan.
Seafood chowder was extremely salty. Potato gratin was more like potato chowder, very soupy and thick, no crust and crisp that i was anticipating for.
Sweet potato fries was sweet but not crispy, maybe double frying helps? Roast potato was really bad, salty, oliy, soggy, disturbing at best.
Poached salmon was okay, kinda pricey for such a portion, the touch of crispy skin was nice, but again, the sauce was also too salty.
Truffle Croque Monsieur was okay, but a tad too small for such a price tag.
Avo toast was kinda disappointing, the avocado was too mushy, first bite was good but due to the textures thats almost porridge like, kinda made you stop eating. Perhaps half or 1/4 of the avo you can be served as slices on top, making it more appetizing and will greatly improve the texture.
Fettuccine al Chorizo & Pancetta was good, i will come back just to eat this.
I had the orange croissant (?) it was good, the butter croissant was not bad. However, when i came back to get nutella cream cube, there was a fly landed on one of the pastry and i called the server. She removed the bread off the case (yay!), but she placed it back into the cases of undisplayed pastries (oh gawd). For a moment i was happy of the “stringent” hygiene but boy was i wrong. My appetite was gone right then and there.
During my first visit, my table looks pristine but it was actually very sticky when my arms was on the table, since the servers were busy talking among themselves i figured “lets not bother them since they are newly opened”, napkins were also not given, luckily i brought my own. During my second visit, the servers were still slow, but this time they gave me napkins (yay).
Overall i will come back and try their other pastas. If i were to buy their pastries. I will probably heat it up at home, considering what i witnessed……
Some of the dishes are fairly priced, whereas some i think can be improved. Foods 2/5 Price 2.5/5 Service...

Read moreI had to change my review of this place. I was initially enthusiastic about Bowie overall, but found that the standard of service started to fall the more I went there. The last straw for me was having to wait well beyond what one would consider a reasonable amount of time for a meal while dining with friends. When I asked the manager where the food was, he started to argue, saying, "this is not a factory". Although he did point out the particular item took longer to assemble and thus had a longer waiting time, I tried saying it was annoying that we didn't all get our meals together. The manager's argumentative nature didn't help either and rather than saying, "OK sir, we'll fix it", he just wanted to prove he was right. That aside, the food is still OK (not great, but better than average) and as long as you don't go when it's really busy, you may get served within a reasonable window of time. But since the manager decided he wanted to engage in a pissing contest rather than find a solution to the issue, I've decided I'd rather spend my...
