Ta Wan Tunjungan Plaza — Restaurant in Surabaya

Visited Ta Wan outlet at Tunjungan Plaza for lunch. In this visit, me and my sister ordered their Sapi Lada Hitam (Black Pepper Beef) and Udang Telur Asin (Salted Egg Prawn). I think they do some changing with their menu seasoning and sauce, because the taste of the foods is pretty different from the last time visit. Their Black Pepper Beef is still nice and enjoyable (the differences mainly on how they thin sliced the beef instead of cut it into smaller cubes and the sauce isn't as strong and tangy as before). However, pretty disappointed with their Salted Egg Prawn, the taste is really different from before and they updated if for the worse (they totally changing the deep fried flour batter for the prawn into thicker batter and also they changed the delicious sliced salted egg sauce and change it into blended salted egg sauce). Serving time is pretty long, but understandable since they're busy during lunch at public holiday. For this visit to Ta Wan Tunjungan Plaza, i'm gonna rate them 2 out of 5. horrible service. staffnya lelet, semua dipanggil sok2 ga liat dan ga cekatan. taking orders salah, serving makanan ke table juga salah. malah nyasar ke table lain. waiters dan cashier semuanya ga sopan, ga ada bilang maaf atau terimakasih. 0 manner.

dulu saya sering makan disini, jadi lumayan hafal sm menu2nya. tadi saya mau oder manual (tanpa scan QR) karna menu di QR tidak lengkap. pas manggil masnya dia malah naruh buku menu di meja saya sambil bilang “ordernya scan QR ya” sambil menuju meja sebelah untuk taking order & mencatat SECARA MANUAL pesanan bapak2 chinese. kayanya bener kata review2 lain, kalo ke chinese waiternya mau layanin, tp kalo ke pribumi jutek banget wkwk pdhl sama2 bayar. mereka jg kaya gamau keluar tenaga untuk melayani banyak customer🤣🤣🤣

menu makanan keluar, pas sampe kok bentuknya udah beda sama yg biasa kami makan. kayanya ganti menu dan manajemen mangkanya jadi berantakan. kami order cumi saos telur asin. yg dateng cumi lada garam. itupun baru ketauan salah pas kami komplain kalo makanan ga sesuai menu yg dipesan. setelah complain menunya bener ditambahin saus telur asin. tapi cuminya kaya karet wkwkwk tebel banget tepungnya ga kaya dulu. DAN GAADA PERMINTAAN MAAF DARI KASIR (MBA MBA KERUDUNGAN, MAS2 AGAK TINGGI RAMBUT MOHAWK, MAUPUN WAITER).

parahnya kami pesan bapao telur asin. pas dateng DINGIN. ga dipanasin dulu kah🤣 pas complain malah servernya tanya “dingin ta bu bapaonya?”. bukannya lgsg minta maaf dan ganti makanan dengan yg panas malah tanya begitu. DAN GA DIGANTI. kayanya ga dicek dulu semua makanan sblm dianter ke customer.

kami bungkus makanan karna udh ga nafsu makan. pas makanan selesai dibungkus ternyata ga dikasih paper bag atau tas wkwk pun GA DIKONFORMASI DI KASIR kalau customer perlu tambah biaya untuk paper bag jika makanan di takeaway. mereka hanya kasih seperti modelan di foto. bener2 bad service. 0/5. padahal ini dulu resto favorit keluarga, i won’t come back here again. SKRG JAUH LEBIH ENAK...

​The Ta Wan restaurant at Tunjungan is pretty small, and it was packed and crowded when I visited. The store manager wasn't at the front to manage the waitlist. Instead, a woman wearing a UOB lanyard, who I assumed was an employee, helped me out. She was the one who ended up writing my name down and showing me to a table. The food also took a long time to arrive, and the dishes came out one at a time, so the others got cold while we waited. However, the food itself was incredibly good. The flavors were perfect and everything was delicious. They really just need to work on improving...
