Völks Coffee | Specialty Coffee — Restaurant in Surabaya

While located roughly in the center of Surabaya, the actual street its on is neither a main road nor a particularly busy one. I came here for breakfast on Wednesday, greeted by a quiet and cozy location shared with only a handful of other people.

Ordered a cup of [Magic] coffee and [Slow Cooked Mushroom Soup]. The coffee is strong and flavourful, which means its a good Magic. My Mushroom Soup arrived quite a while later, accompanied by slices of sourdough bread. I find the mushroom flavour to be too soft, especially when you take the strong taste of sourdough bread into the equation.

Behind a not so plentiful parking area, the establishment itself is split into indoors and outdoors section, the later being dedicated for smoking. Indoors decorated with old school/run down vibes, while the outdoors are decorated with plants and gravel flooring. If atmosphere means a lot to you, I'd recommend coming here on evening or night time.

I ordered tea beverage and one of their rice menu. Overall taste was standard. Tea was good but too sweet even though i already ask them to make it less sweet. The food, sambal matah was not really a sambal because the chilli is too little, too much shallots i can still taste the shallots until now. I found a strand of hair on top of my fish, i took the hair in front of the server and then he said sorry and go back to smoke. There are a lot of flies and other small flying animals inside that make it uncomfortable to eat. There are a lot of things that you can improve, the cafe's interior and design was quite nostalgic so i actually like it very much. parkiran cukup oke ada 4 slot di dalam lokasi sisanya di pinggir jalanan tukang parkirnya oke banget n sabar banget; i didn't realize klo dia disabled (only got 1 arm)

masuk ke pintu utama ada slide door, ya ampun berat banget slidernya sampe gak cuma ak yg kesusahan geser utk buka, ternyata ada bbrp org sampe keluarkan suara "ciat", "heuk", bisa dipahami kan seberat apa sih hehe

tempat nya keren sih, estetik banget, ambience vintage nya dapet banget ditambah hiasan tanaman di berbagai spot, trus ada juga sepeda fixie yang bikin ak pengen majang dari dulu haha

bagian outdoornya sebenarnya ada 2 bagian, sisi depan dan sisi belakang, unfortunately sisi belakangnya semacam abandoned gitu, mejanya udah ngelupas, mungkin belum diperbaiki ya, fortunately sisi depannya oke banget dilengkapi kipas angin + lampu2 kuning estetik dari atas atapnya

utk tempat duduknya cozy sih menurutku, ada bbrp yg pake busa / bantalan, sisanya kayu biar gak hilang nilai klasiknya, cukup luas dan mostly gak buat kumpul2 dg banyak orang ya, ber2 atau ber3 aja udah super cozy menurut ak

utk makanan dan minumannya jujurly, cukup sedih harganya cukup pricey di surabaya utk minuman 30-50, utk makanan 40~ nah, untungnya ak mampir disini agak laper, akhirnya pesen iced honey milk + fish chips si honey milk sumpah reminds me of locaahands so sorry i have to spill this, but yes, compositions nya muirip banget tapi gila suka banget ak sm minuman ini, krn bagian atasnya tuh ada cinnamon + di flamed wah gila wangi banget + manisnya pas deh, puas super totally puas! PS: porsi gelas minuman ini lebih banyak drpd di locaahands, trust me kalo kalian pernah coba di locaahands, must try disini ya

trus utk makanan, cukup kaget loh kok kyk gini datengnya? why "loh"? porsinya gak begitu bikin happy tummy piring / wadah tempatnya kok kecil, jd gak nyaman potongin fish nya trus why the 5 stars di review ini? karena ak happy! puas dengan taste nya, fish nya cooked very well, kentangnya kurus panjang2 uenak pol, tartar sauce nya juga satisfying!
