Warung Kongdhe Mbak May — Restaurant in Surabaya

Came to this hawker by a friend's recommendation. I ordered the Nasi Madura Selulup. The dish was basically steamed rice served with various kinds of side dishes and sambal on top of and around the rice.

The taste of each side dish might not be extraordinarily delicious. However the random combination of these dishes with every spoonful of rice was a unique culinary experience by itself. And somehow they went well together as a delicious dish.

The highlight of this Maduranese mixed rice was the spicy chili tuna. The tuna meat was salty and the chili sauce was sweet and spicy. Then there was a bit of black-inked sauced squid that was rich and savory.

With the chili sauce and the squid black-inked sauce one can enjoy the rest of the side dishes: fried marinated beef & tripe, deep fried shrimp, fried noodle and serundeng (spiced fried shaved coconut meat). This street food is great and tasty. They sell various mixed rice, they have a nick name for the food such as Darat (land, mixed rice with chicken/beef), - Laut (Sea,mixed rice with fish, squid, shrimp) Slurup (land & sea) Krengsengan (beef with Indonesian spices) All the price is the same, around IDR 25k. They also provide drinks, cost you around IDR 5k.

The most famous for this place is their Sambal, very spicyyy.

The place is inside the alley, we usually called it warung, not too clean and sometime flies are join us to eat the food.

For reduce the load, take away orders, they served in the another station, further down the alley.

Kalau kamu penggemar berat masakan Madura, terutama nasi campur dengan sambal pencit yang pedas nampol dan gurih khasnya.. Warung Nasi Madura Kongde ini wajib masuk daftar kunjunganmu. Lokasinya berada di area Alon-Alon Contong dekat Jln Baliwerti di Surabaya.

Warung Kongde mungkin tampak sederhana, tapi urusan rasa, jangan anggap remeh. Dari kejauhan, aromanya saja sudah menggoda. Mereka menyajikan nasi Madura lengkap dengan aneka lauk pilihan: mulai dari ayam kampung goreng, telur petis, paru goreng, babat, empal, hingga sambal daging suwir. Yang bikin makin istimewa adalah kuah kental dan serundeng-nya—menambah kaya rasa dan tekstur di setiap suapan. Daging krengsengannya yg bnr bnr mantaap dengan cita rasa yg authentic.

Sambal pencitnya benar-benar khas Madura: pedasnya nampol, tapi masih bisa dinikmati. Cocok banget buat kamu yang doyan makan pedas dan cari rasa yang benar-benar ‘nendang’. Tingkat kepedasannya juga bisa disesuaikan, tinggal bilang ke penjual.

Nasi Madura komplit dengan paru, telur petis, dan sambal daging Nasi Kredator.. Krengsengan daging Dan telor Ayam goreng kampung serundeng Ikan tuna masak sambal pedas juga merupakan menu favorite. Disajikan dengan nasi hangat dan sambal yang menyatu banget dengan lauknya.

Porsinya mengenyangkan, dan harga sangat bersahabat. Makan di sini rasanya seperti pulang ke kampung—masakan rumahan yang sederhana tapi bikin nagih. Tempat duduk tersedia di area makan terbuka, cocok buat nongkrong santai atau makan cepat bareng teman atau keluarga. Saran... Ke sini jangan pas jam makan krn pasti ngantri tempat duduk..

💬 Kesan saya: Warung Kongde ini bukan cuma jual nasi Madura, tapi juga rasa nostalgia dan kehangatan dari masakan rumahan. Cocok banget buat yang lagi rindu makanan khas atau sekadar ingin makan enak dengan harga masuk akal. Pelayanannya juga ramah dan cukup cepat meskipun ramai.
