TL:DR; I had a reservation for nine people at AMCO and got placed in a “VIP” room that felt outdated. Service was poor—no one greeted us on arrival, food took forever (over an hour for some dishes), and staff gave inconsistent updates. Some orders were never made. The food itself was good (favorites: Nasi Goreng Bebek Truffle & Salmon Mentai Nigiri), but the disappointing service ruined the experience. There is a major need for staff retraining and better management, especially during peak hours.

I could go on and on about our experience today… We arrived at 1 p.m. and had already made our reservation by WA. Since we’re a group of 9, AMCO offered us a VIP room because the main dining room was packed. When we got to the restaurant, there was no server to greet us and take us to the VIP room. I had to approach one of them, but he was busy, so I approached another server. She finally took us to the room, even though she was initially confused. I was a bit surprised by the "VIP room" because it did not look like it. I didn’t take pictures of the room, but you can imagine it being not yet renovated since it didn’t have the same theme as the rest of the restaurant; it looks old. So if I have to choose the main dining or VIP during special occasions, I’d stick with the main dining even if I have lots of people. The food and beverages were quite good. My family and I ordered many dishes, and our favorite dishes were Nasi Goreng Bebek Truffle and Salmon Mentai Nigiri. However, despite their food quality, we were disappointed by the service. It took so long for them to serve the menu, and my cousins had to wait an hour for their food to be served… Can you imagine that? We complained to the kitchen, and they told us it would be "2 minutes" and that "2 minutes" turned into 15 minutes. To add salt to the wound, we asked about another dish that hadn’t been served, and they said they hadn’t made it yet. How tf????? We were so pissed and ended up taking away two dishes and canceling the other 2. It turns out that many people have experienced the same thing as we have. You guys need to improve your service, or else people will be disappointed. We understand it’s a peak hour, but you should’ve handled it better. You can be one of the best if it wasn’t for the poor service… Retrain the whole staff...
Read moreSo far, this is the only place I’ve found where you can hang out, have a proper meal, and also enjoy coffee, pastries, and desserts — all in one spot — and everything is seriously delicious. The place itself is super comfy and homey, makes you want to stay forever… I couldn’t even decide where to sit because every corner is cozy and Instagrammable.
I keep coming back here because the food options are not only varied but also all so good. I always find a reason to return just to try something new on the menu.
And don’t even get me started on the pastries — the selection is insanely wide, and none of them ever disappoint!
The last time I went to Amco was on the first day of Eid. It was already super crowded from the outside… I was hesitant to go in, but honestly, every restaurant in Solo was packed that day. So we decided to go in anyway…
And yep — turns out there was a waiting list. After about 20 minutes, we finally got a table, although many menu items were already sold out and service was a bit slow. But I totally understood, because it was Eid, and Amco normally offers great service.
So I just stayed patient — I figured other restaurants were probably facing the same thing during the holiday rush.
Bottom line: I never get tired of going to Amco. Definitely going to keep coming back...
Read moreFood tastes good, but the service is quite bad. I came here with high expectations as their building and interior is awesome. I expected the service to be good as well. I came for the creme brulee bobba (the ads there written buy 1 get 1 free). When I ordered that, the waitress informed me that the one I ordered is not included in the promotion (although the picture of the product is clearly there) , but she wanted to confirm with her manager first. I waited for half an hour (until all my family finished their food) yet still no response. When I asked her again, she told me that her manager is busy earlier and she'll ask again (turns out her manager was there all along, I didn't notice that he's the manager) and told me that the menu I chose was indeed included in the promotion. She quickly leave me without saying anything (not even asked whether I wanted to buy that or not). I was disappointed with that to be honest. She should've informed me that her manager is busy or at least give me clue about what happened or what took...
