Finally found burgers priced like it's 1985! At 17,000 Rupiah (about $1.50 Canadian), this has to be the cheapest burger I've encountered in 69 years on this planet. Even the infamous McDouble during their promotional weeks back home costs more than this.
The chicken crispy burger was... interesting. Took three bites before I could actually locate any chicken. It's like they ground up the meat so fine it basically dissolved into the breading. Reminded me of those compressed fish patties they served at my high school cafeteria, except with more flour. Much more flour.
But here's the thing - for 17,000 Rupiah, what exactly was I expecting? Gourmet free-range chicken? The patty was crispy, it was hot, and it filled the gap between lunch and dinner. The bun held together reasonably well despite the humidity, which is more than I can say for some $15 burgers back home.
Service was lightning fast - probably because they pre-make everything. My burger appeared within 90 seconds of ordering. The young man at the counter seemed genuinely excited that I ordered two burgers (couldn't resist at that price). He even threw in extra ketchup packets without me asking.
The location is perfect if you're staying nearby and need something quick and cheap. No frills, no pretense, just honest-to-goodness budget food. Sure, the pictures on the menu show thick, juicy patties with visible meat fibers and fresh vegetables, while reality delivers something closer to a circular hash brown with mayo. But at this price point, that's just smart marketing.
Would I eat here every day? No. But when you're trying to stretch your pension across a three-week vacation, places like Boom Burger are a godsend. Five stars for value alone. Sometimes you don't need a luxury restaurant - you just need something edible that won't...

And don’t get me started on the misleading pictures—they’re definitely catfishing us with those illusions..... if bacon is not on the menu why is it in every picture?
In a nation where a fried Dada Ayam (fancy Indonesian term for breast chicken) costs 9k only , I expected more than this processed mystery meat. Seriously, it’s like they minced something unidentifiable, coated it in enough flour to build a cake, and called it a patty. Not cool, guys. Not cool at all.
On the upside, the price isn’t breaking the bank, hence the extra star, but then again your in an area where a similar price will have you full and satisfied at other places.
And hey, maybe throw in a couple of lettuce leaves next time? It wouldn’t hurt.... might even slightly resemble the pictures?
Now, onto brighter bites—my pals raved about the mushroom burger. Unfortunately, my egg allergy kept me from joining that flavor party. But if you’re not allergic, go for it!
So, in summary: less flour, more chicken, more flavour, accurate charges, and salad love. You got this!
Ps . See you all at the next restaurant (you will need...
Read moreWrap Yes, Burger No! Ok ,its a cheap place, but stay away from the burgers. We ordered a burger with chips, an omlett and a chicken wrap, plus a durian and a guanabana(sour soup) juice. The durian juice was a bit thin, but the sour soup was perfect. The omlett was a flat scrambled egg with veggies and lots of oil. Flavour was ok. The burger has a crispy 2 mm thick fried breadcumbs, not even a chance to discover any chicken flavour, its a waist of money, however the chicken wrap is awesome. This is what you want to go for. It has real chicken inside, and has a fairly good flavour to it. So order 2. And the side chips is also nice. Service was nothing special, but dirty, sticky tables, and i had to go and get my own condiments from the other table. Atmosphere 3 * because you eang dust and car emission at the same time Setvice 2* needs to be improved, make it more welcoming Food 3* because our of 6 items 3 was good, and the burger was very disappointing. Ended up paying only 100k, so cheap! So get the wrap...
