Pachamama Cafe — Restaurant in West Nusa Tenggara

If I could give this place more than five stars, I would! Seriously, this cozy studio was like a warm hug from your favorite sweater. From the moment I stepped in, I felt like I was in the Goldilocks zone—everything was just right!

I stayed for over 2 weeks and this is my honest review!

The bed? Oh boy, it was so comfortable that I might have considered proposing to it. I mean, who needs a partner when you have a mattress that cradles you like a baby? And let’s talk about the staff—WOW! Kudos to Jimi, his wife and the whole team! If there were an Olympics for hospitality, they’d take home the gold medal, the silver, and probably the bronze too. They went above and beyond, making sure I was comfy, cozy, and maybe even too pampered. I half-expected them to start fluffing my pillows by the hour! Oh and it was a real treat having the restaurant downstairs especially on rainy days where I could just order in!!

Now, let’s chat about cleanliness—this place sparkled like a diamond in the sunlight! I felt like I was stepping into a palace, not just an Airbnb. Whenever I needed a cleaning they were there in a jiffy! And the bathroom? Oh my, it was enchanting! Loved the outdoor / indoor vibe and was so lovely and spacious that I contemplated moving in permanently :)

And let's not forget the food! Each meal was a delightful adventure, bursting with flavor and freshness. You could practically taste the care and attention to detail in every bite. The ingredients were so fresh that I half-suspected they had a secret garden out back! And the Jamu? Hands down the best on the island! I’m pretty sure I’m now addicted, and I might just have to start a fan club for it!

In short, if you’re looking for a place to stay where you’ll be treated like royalty (and where your bed might just be the love of your life), look no further. I can’t wait to come back!

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL, a must-visit spot! From the moment you walk in, you know you’re in for a treat. The staff are genuinely welcoming, attentive without being overbearing, and they make you feel like a valued guest right away. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and elegant, with thoughtful touches that set the mood—soft lighting, stylish décor, and an inviting, romantic vibe.

The menu is creative and well-curated, with a nice balance of comforting flavors and a few unique surprises. Portions are just right—beautifully presented and plated with care. Prices are fair, especially considering the quality and attention to detail.

My wife and I have been here multiple times, and our favorites so far are:

Starter: Vegan fried chicken (amazing) and spicy corn (good)

Very on trend "super food" style dishes with a lot of vegetarian options. Even if this is not totally my thing, it's clear that a lot of thinking has gone into the food. The presentation is beautiful and all dishes are simple but made with well thought out ingredients.

The small touches like home pickled and fermented vegetables, added sprouts and seeds or cashew "parmesan" are well noticeable. All dishes feature a very pleasant variety of flavours, textures and colours. Portion size tends to be good too with the breakfast dishes even being on the large side. Some dishes are low on salt, which is on purpose as stated in the menu, but salt and pepper are available on every table and easily added.

Certainly slightly pricier than other options on the island but this is well reflected in the ingredients, ambiance and overall quality. Dishes, presentation and interior design are so well thought out, every picture you take here is Instagram gold 😉
