As someone who loves to explore new places, I was lucky enough to stumble upon Allora Restaurant during my time on Gili Air, and I have to say, it was a revelation. Dining alone can sometimes feel a bit intimidating, but the moment I walked in, I felt completely at ease, thanks to the welcoming atmosphere and attentive service.
The food here is absolutely amazing. Each dish was carefully crafted, bursting with fresh flavors and beautifully presented. I started with a fresh seafood appetizer that set the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable meal. For the main course, I had a perfectly cooked steak, tender and juicy, with a side of seasonal vegetables that were simply divine.
What really impressed me was the quality of the drinks. Finally, a place on Gili Air that serves real cocktails! The bartender was knowledgeable, and the drink I ordered was perfectly balanced—a great pairing to the meal.
The best part, though, was the service. The staff made me feel like a valued guest, not just a solo diner. Their attentiveness and friendliness added a personal touch to the experience that I truly appreciated.
For anyone looking for a romantic dinner, a casual meal, or even just a peaceful solo dining experience, Allora checks all the boxes. With exceptional food, a great wine list, and fantastic service, I was thoroughly impressed. If you're on Gili Air, this is definitely the...
Read moreThe food was flawless - the gorgonzola and walnut gnocchi, seafood ravioli and chocolate mousse were all delicious dishes I would happily order again. But unfortunately our experience was let down by chaotic service.
An hour after ordering, and having nearly finished our drinks, we were abruptly informed that because of an “error in the system” we would need to order again. We eventually got our main dishes but had to forgo the starter as it arrived after the mains. There was also some confusion about the second round of wine which we discussed having on the house as a gesture of goodwill to make up for the delays and mixups but which was then included on the bill. I understand that mistakes sometimes happen, but it is the way they are handled which makes all the difference, and we expected smoother service from a more expensive restaurant such as this. Towards the end of the meal the waiter did apologise, remove the second glasses of wine from the bill and offer us a free dessert which was much appreciated.
I suspect we just got unlucky with the poor service and communication on this occasion and I would still recommend giving this restaurant a try as the food...

As a huge fan of lemon chicken, I can confidently say that Allora serves the best I've ever had. Their lemon chicken is so exquisite that I could easily have it a hundred times and still crave more. It’s truly the one and only of its kind on the island.
My husband, on the other hand, is a ribeye enthusiast. He was blown away by the quality and flavor of the ribeyes at Allora. Cooked to perfection, the ribeyes are tender, juicy, and packed with flavor – a must-try for any meat lover.
We also indulged in the gnocchi, which turned out to be one of the best we’ve had on the island. The texture and taste were impeccable, making it a standout dish on the menu.
Allora is a restaurant we wholeheartedly recommend. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, make sure to add Allora to your list of must-visit...
