Not sure about all the rave here. Was here for lunch and the food and service were both underwhelming.
Food: The miso chicken was half raw when served, I sent it back and they made a new one but for a restaurant to serve half raw chicken is kind of ridiculous and unsanitary; it’s very very easy to make sure the chicken is done. The manager apologized after serving a new plate but did not offer any price cut or whatever. I am pretty sure they saw me take one bite into three different pieces of chicken before spitting them out (all raw on the inside but I wanted to give them a chance) before waving them over to send it back. I feel like any self-respecting restaurant would either take the item off the bill or offer some kind of discount.
The battered fish fillet (snapper? Can’t remember) is not the western kind (what you’d get in fish and chips); that’s probably my mistake for expecting it. It’s a very thin cut of fillet with batter almost as thick as the fillet itself. Once again, not the fluffy type.
The garlic prawn was decent if not overpowering; the best out of all dishes I’ve ordered. Once again not what you may expect if you ordered garlic prawn at any western cafe, and again, my mistake for expecting that.
Staff is fine but definitely not as friendly as other restaurants in the area. The waitress does this thing where she comes out to the door when she sees you coming hence blocking the tiny door so you can’t get in without talking to her first. Very weird and though I’m sure not her intention, it felt unwelcoming. Not sure if they are trying to the having a staff standing outside thing for seating inquiries but this totally misses the mark.
Overall I regret giving this a try....
Read moreDont write many reveiws but our food was simple but solid and I figure its the least I can do for them. Seasoning was good. Our Bonita/Tuna WAS a nice med rare. Honestly very unecpected, better MR then some restaurants back home. Mint, chili, lime "pesto" was well done. Watermelon with feta is classic combo. Tempe was nutty and "sambal" was fresh and good. My other 2 sides were great as well. Falafels were good. I liked how it was good size portions aswell (I can eat a lot, I have hollow legs when I want), even though it was sorta pricy. For indonesia its $$$ but its a good size plate of tasty food. So it worth it. Its not very Indonesian or sasak but its good, fresh, different.
Usually places think there fancy or high end so the make the portions small, bowl shaped, tightly twirled with a few swooshes or zig zag lines/a few dots. But the foods boring and lacking seasonings, acids, taste or any skills what so ever! But I would legitimately...
Read moreAMAZING FRESH SEAFOOD My fiancée and I shared the platter for two and it was amazing. The batter on the fish was perfectly crispy, the tuna was soft and delicious, the white fish (although a little firm) was flavourful and the fish curry in the middle wasn’t too spicy. The tartare sauce is great too. We also added chips and damn they were good! Next time I’ll get the fish and chips just because the bettered Mahi Mahi, chips and tartare sauce were my favorite. An Aussie fella next to us whose brother lives on Lombok says this is the best fish and chips spot on the whole island. I can...
