Beanbags, swings, chairs, benches, boats… you will not be lacking for choice of seating at Treehouse!
They have an incredible laid-back and breezy vibe that is prefect even on a hot day. It looks over the biggest in-town intersection so you can get in a spot of people watching, if that’s your thing (very fascinating!). Take your shoes off for an even more chill experience.
Fast wifi too.
We enjoyed the Hot Tangerine Tea, the dragonfruit drink, the chicken schnitzel with mashed potato and the borscht soup. Oh and the bananas. Nothing to flaw here! Was all delicious and as advertised.
The Hot Tangerine tea also had ginger and came with a shooter of honey syrup so great if you have a bit of a sore throat from all the passive smoking in Kuta (not something we are used to in Australia). When I finished my cup, I was able to refill with hot water from the dispenser myself and had a second gingery-honey drink.
The schnitty was excellent. Perfect crumb, juicy flavourful chicken on the inside. Lovely almost zesty mayo. Mash was a great accompaniment - especially if you’re craving mashed potatoes.
The borscht had a great flavour and I wish we’d ordered it at the same time as the schnitzel as it would have paired excellently. It is thick - don’t expect a watery soup. The sour cream on top makes the dish.
The banana had the same crumb as the schnitzel, but I’m not complaining. Was cooked perfectly also. The chocolate sauce on the side was a bit overpowering for the banana - great on its own, but even though I love chocolate sauces I think something more akin to a dulce de leche would have been a better match? My opinion only. Maybe a choice from the two would be good? ;)
Had trouble paying with card, but just switched to cash and all was well.

Read moreDined in on Christmas Day and was greeted kindly by the owner. But as we were seated - it was an overall very confused service. They had forgotten to provide us menus, so my husband had gotten our own. Then as the food arrived, they had forgotten utensils for the table so we had to ask for some to eat the appetizers & meals we ordered.
Now for the food…. I ordered the rose duck breast with orange sauce and my husband ordered the tuna. His meal was delicious as I tried some of his. Mine arrived after but unfortunately the duck was still raw, so we sent it back. Instead of receiving a rose duck, we were then sent back a well done duck and without any sauce. When I asked for the sauce, the first time they said they would bring it. But then when it didn’t arrive 15 min later, I asked again but they said they couldn’t make it because they only make it when they make the duck (?). When I asked a third time he brought me a teaspoon of “leftover sauce”. When I explained that it was because we sent back the first duck and never received the sauce - he was then able to provide a sauce! By this time I gave up and had already eaten half the meal (but when the sauce did arrive it was very tasty). Shame that I couldn’t get the full experience.
Tl;dr: A buzzy restaurant with nice atmosphere, good intentions but overall just a slightly...
Read moreThe restaurant had advertised an all you can eat Friday night steak night. We ordered the food, and it was ok but was small servings. When we received the bill it was only then we became aware that it was only the side that was all you can eat! But not the meat. The bill was double what we had anticipated to pay. They had brought us another plate of steaks without letting us know that it was another charge again for another meal. This must happen all the time it's advertised every Friday night and this was done in a sneaky way! We decided to speak to the owners and head staff of the misunderstanding thinking staff were being misleading, but then the management basically point at the sign like a buyer beware attitude. The head staff/manager and their response was very poor. We paid double what we expected and I'm leaving this review to warn others of this trick they are playing. The steak was very small portions imported from India I believe. Not sure if they meet food grade guidelines of the western culture and I was a bit hesitant to eat mine medium or rare cooked for disease factors. With a bill that was the equivalent of three nights accommodation for two tiny pieces...
