Warung Aldi's — Restaurant in West Nusa Tenggara

The food was really good and it’s great value however we had a massive wait for food and were taken aback by the staffs response when this issue was raised.

There were two of us and my food took a little while but had no problem with that as don’t expect it to be super quick at smaller local places like this, however my partners food took over an hour. I had been finished and my plates cleared for quite a while before his eventually came out. When I’d finished and his still hadn’t arrived we asked where it was and the lady went and came back and said it was still cooking, it was at least another twenty minutes before the chicken sate came out so it seems they only then just started cooking it. I’ve worked in cafes etc and completely understand that sometimes things go wrong however when we went to pay and mentioned how long it took they apologised but then when we said we’d like to pay slightly less (not removing the cost of the sate completely as we felt that would be harsh for a small place, just taking total bill down from 117,000 to 100,000), the staff really argued with us on the matter and it took a while before they eventually accepted the 100k instead. I had no intention of leaving a review mentioning the issues with the food because other than that it was really nice and I understand things happen on occasion however the staffs response when we expressed that we wanted to pay a bit less just really dissapointed me so felt that leaving some feedback was fair given that...

A sh.thole called "homestay". Worst accomodation in 2 months in Indonesia. Aldi's bungalow (I do not know who is this Aldi, the owners name is Mrs Suriati and she's never there to manage the place except to pickup the money at night, and that's part of the problem because the employees, mostly kids and probably badly paid, do not know what to do) use the usual cheating : to propose an attractive price for something different from the pictures and description. They have decent bungalows but they cost much more. In fact the price listed is for four honestays which are real sh.tholes in the back of the property: very tiny, dirty, smelly with mildew on walls and ceiling, no hot water, cutting stones to cover the floor in the bathroom, absolutely everything broken, no wifi !!! See my pictures. It was such an unhealthy place that I slept near the pool and canceled the second night. Breakfast was also disgusting and the same greedy, petty and avaricious breed: spongy toast, no butter and jam, undercooked omelette with vegetables from the day before, fruit juice filling half the (wine) glass because I asked for it without water or ice. Nice place, nice location, but food isn’t great especially for the price. We had dinner here twice: pizza, spaghetti alfredo, and a burger. Our pizzas had almost no cheese on them and the pepperoni pizza had about 3 slices of salami in total on the whole pie. The burger had a strange texture and taste and, while obviously some beef due to bone chips, maybe mixed with a soybean filler because it was reminiscent of a tofu burger. Spaghetti had very little chicken in it. There shouldn’t be any reason to be so skimpy with ingredients especially at tourist meal prices and being more generous might improve the flavor. If it hadn’t been past 10, when all the other restaurants close, we wouldn’t have eaten there. Service is good, alcohol...
