First time trying Javanese “kratonese” fine dining, and the experience was truly special. The ambiance is regal yet warm—perfect for sharing a meal with friends or a loved one. Here’s a breakdown of the dishes I tried: - Secang (8/10): Warm, soothing, and refreshing drink—perfect as a starter for a cool evening. - Terancam Kemul (6/10): I dont know what is this. A bit too dry, sticky, and bland for my taste. Not my favorite. - Stoop Macaroni (8/10): Light, comforting broth—though a bit too watery. - Main Course (8/10): The yellow rice was flavorful, and the grilled shrimp (udang bago) was juicy and well-seasoned. The empal suwir was a bit tough, and the rolled omelette was forgettable. Pickled vegetables were spicy but felt mismatched with the yellow rice—maybe better suited with Sambal instead this pickled. Rambah was crispy, as expected. - Guava Juice (5/10): Standard, but way too sweet for me. - Rujak Buah (8/10): First time trying it—delicious and balanced. Pro tip: mix it with the ice cream for a better flavor experience! - Tea/Coffee (9/10): Can’t go wrong—choose based on your mood. The overall experience? A solid 10/10. Each dish came out with an air of royalty, and it felt exciting to explore classic flavors with a fine-dining twist. Would absolutely recommend trying it at least once!

This restaurant seems like having a major renovation or even relocation maybe. I didn’t remember the exact location during previous visit about 8 years ago. Now this restaurant evolve to a big restaurant with art gallery before entering dining area. Dining area consists of several Joglo building. Unfortunately the entrance gate to this restaurant is very narrow and quite steep. For beginners who using SUV/big MPV cars could be challenging. Parking space also quite limited. During my visit with my colleague, we ordered fine dining package which I never found 8 years ago. Fine dining package is nice. I love most of the dishes they served. - Welcome drink: Ginger lime - Starter: Mini croquettes - Appetizer: Fruit salad & mushroom cream soup - Main course: pandan rice, steamed snapper, kicik beef, bean sprouts & tofu stir-fried, and mushroom pepper - Side dish: Orange juice - Dessert: Cocktail pancake The only cons is steamed snapper still a bit fishy. The rest are nice for me. During our dining, there will be gamelan sound. If only the gamelan was live, it would be perfect. Overall this restaurant is very recommended for those who likes to feel dinner atmosphere like in keraton Jogja.
