Petit Paris Boulangerie — Restaurant in Yogyakarta

I liked this place, I had French onion soup which was quite nice but failed in taste due to lacking depth of onion flavour and thin.... I've had this soup before in France and the UK and can definitely say this is not a strong flavoured soup here....albeit very nice to eat, I was expecting crisp toast atop of the soup with melted cheese on top of the toast but what I received was bread soaked in the soup and cheese melted on top, somewhat different to what I've had before but still tasty. After I had half roast chicken with wild mushroom sauce, which was very nice but the chicken was a little over done, bordering too dry, thankfully I had a sauce to go with it. At this level of restaurant I was expecting a nicely roasted moist half chicken but that isn't what I got, sadly. My wife had mushroom and chicken on toast as a started which was very nice, full of flavour and the chicken was just right.... But m, she had qtr chicken and had the same issue as me where the chicken was a little too over done. Generally the place is a quiet relaxed restaurant with very nice peaceful music in the background creating a nice relaxed environment, the staff are very helpful and speak English quite well.... Which helped (I'm still learning bahasa Indonesia) . Very nice restaurant with a good selection of food and drinks. Ordered the pastries via Grabfood for breakfast. Had a high expectation for them, but what i got made me a little bit disappointed. I ordered the baguette, almond croissant, and hazelnut bottled latte. When i tried the baguette, it is so tough. I expect it at least to be soft if not crunchy, but it is tough as a rubber. The long baguette made my jaw tired tried after chewing it. For the taste, not so bad though, buttery and not sweet 👍 The almond croissant is a little bit better. I said a little bit coz its still not as soft as what i expect, but still alot better than the baguette. The taste is sweet but not too sweet and buttery. But its not at least warm in the slightest just like the baguette. For the hazelnut latte, the taste is okay. The sweetness is perfect, but the hazelnut taste is so thin.

Hope they made the pastries better for online delivery service, at least warm up the pastries before packing it to the driver so it dont came as cold and tough. For a bakery that prides itself as a french bakery, this is dissapointing. Good luck for your business, i'll give it a try again sometime...

Ordered through Go Food on 24th July '21 for their croissant and pastries. Their croffle cheese and croffle choco are good. One of the best in Jogja if I may say. However we tasted some kind of "soapy" and fragrant taste for the rest of our order. Choco croissant and cheese croissant, when we smelled closer we could smell a slight soapy along the croissant surface. Banana chocomaltine tasted a bit soapy on the chocolate layer cheesecake tasted a bit soapy along the cheesecake surface and also on the chocolate garnish on top. I took it closer and could smell a bit soapy. But the cheesecake layer in the middle was normal avocado mousse was also a bit soapy on the chocolate layer and chocolate garnish on top, the rest was fine

I tried contacting the restaurant Whatsapp for clarification on what was wrong but never get clear answer but offered a replacement. I kindly refuse since getting a new one was not my intention at all. I was just wondering if that taste was normal or not.
