Had the Eggs Benedict. Not good, considering it was one of the more expensive items on the breakfast menu. The bread was rubbery and near impossible to manage with the dinner knife. They use the ends of the bread, greased it up and put it on the plancha. Like how you'd toast a burger bun. That made the tough sourdough bread unpliable and for a messy meal in the end. Normally, you'd use the middle slices of the bread, stick it in the grill/oven until slightly crisp and then only dress the bread. The Hollandaise sauce was a little too vinegary but that's OK. At least it didn't all come out of a bottle. The eggs were poached well and put on top of beef bacon - my first ever Eggs Benedict with beef bacon. It did not pair well. Stick with smoked salmon or do an Eggs Florentine with spinach instead. Beef bacon is just not it for Eggs Benedict.
My cafe latte was from elsewhere apparently. It took a while for it to be served and it came a little cold. Or rather they used cold milk for the little swirly heart-shaped art piece on the top instead of warming the milk. Rookie mistake.
I think there is potential to do better with the appropriate training and supervision. The place feels very promising. I will go back for a burger. I would think they do burgers better since they're more set...
Read moreQuite near my place of accommodation. Food quality was acceptable especially the blueberry jam. The 4 pieces of sourdough was good but not great. The sourdough was not firm enough for my liking.
For the price paid, about IDR122k, it was not really worth it as I would expect a more substantial portion. The cappuccino, while good, was in a small cup that did not do justice to the price paid.
What was more was the friendly service by the English-speaking staff. Good that they had an English menu for you to order.
The cafe was ok for breakfast but I am not sure for the later part of the day when the heat becomes intense as it does not have air-con, only fans.
What was shocking was that if you choose to pay with credit card, rather than cash, the cafe will charge an additional 3% service...
Read moreNot the best experience here. We came for the breakfast menu. I ordered a shakshuka & 2 coffees .. to a shock both of these things were out of stock. I then asked for a cinnamon coffee .. which to a suprise was then also out of stock. We were told coffee would be available at 12pm?
Ended up with the two way baguette & and eggs Benedict. I sent the two way baguette back as it came half the size of the picture I have posted. When remade, it will was ridiculously small portioned. Eggs Benedict sourdough bread was very small. The hollandaise wasn’t creamy it was more thick.
We had to go out for a second breakfast and coffee. Not ideal when you have paid 135,000 already for a first breakfast.
