First timers here. We opted for the Early bird menu (2 courses for €27.50 & option of adding a dessert for €5). I was impressed that this was an option on a Saturday night until 6.30pm. Some specials were also available. To commence, I opted for the crispy beef and truffle dim sum and my husband had the homemade black pudding croquettes. We shared each other's dishes throughout the meal in case the other ordered better! The Dim Sum was the standout winner of that round: so sapid. The croquettes were tasty though lacked some moisture as we felt they were a little dry overall. For mains, I ordered the southern fried chicken burger with chips and the other half ordered the Thai curry with chicken served with half rice and chips. The curry was the highlight of that round: again fabulous flavour though we gave it a 9/10: some added vegetables to the curry would have been perfect. I was at capacity at this point but my bottomless husband chose the Eaton mess. He reported it was glorious. I did taste it and the berry compote was very impressive. I enjoyed watching him eat this with pure pleasure. He gave it a 10/10.

Called the restaurant at 20.45 to ask what time the kitchen closes and was told 21.30 we then told the restaurant we were on our way and the guy on the other end of the phone agreed and hung up. We arrived at the door at 21.05 to see that the blinds had been closed and the door was shut. We tried to call and no one answered and upon trying again realised they had placed the phone off the hook. Really disgusted at their actions. The guy on the phone had every opportunity to say they weren't taking anymore tables but instead let us come all the way in to find they had tactfully shut. With a warm Chocolate Brownie for dessert! The food is worthy of a Mitchelin star! It's fantastic value for money. With a wide selection of dishes to accommodate any palate! The restaurant is warm and inviting, beautiful decor, with a friendly atmosphere! The staff are very attentive and informative about the dishes on offer! As we have guest houses in Belturbet, (Hawthorn Lodge & Boxhill). We often have guests asking for recommendations of places to dine.
